It works! Great Value.
Arrived well packaged . It is quite compact and as another reviewer has mentioned does look like a internet router. It is shiny black (finger-print magnet) and protected by peel off plastic sheets on both sides. 2 cables are supplied, one aerial co-ax and the power cable. Both are not very long at about 1.5m and 2.0m respectively (no problem for us though). Followed the clear instructions, connected everything up (old Panasonic G50 plasma freeview HD and Freesat built in), placed unit on window sill, turned on, let the tv scan the channels and 3 minutes later it had picked up all channels for Freeview and Freeview HD, BT vision and radio. We live in South Wales - picked up the Wenvoe transmitter no problem all with maximum reception, 10/10 signal strength. We do have an okay reception in our area. It even picked up the Bristol transmitter - though this was a bit more patchy with an average signal strength of 2/10. So it is certainly powerful enough for our needs. It hasn't dropped the signal and tucked away behind the curtain, it isn't noticeable. Fantastic value for money. Tip - I would check the Freeview or Digital TVwebsite for coverage first. If you have an average to good reception in your area and you don't want an outdoor aerial - it's ideal for a second tv, etc. Recommended.

It just works
The main thing you need to know about any indoor aerial is ... does it work ... well for me, absolutely.I have the August USB tuner to use with my laptop, and the supplied passive aerial didn't work that well ... sure it would register that it scanned over 100 channels, but to be honest, the signal strength was awful ... I could probably watch no more than half a dozen. The DTA300B, attached to my August USN tuner gave me picture perfect results from the first scan, so I'm a happy bunny.I didn't even bother reading the instructions, set up is so intuitive.A very minor moan (and I'm afraid this is a common fault),I would like the lead to be a bit longer.

If you need a Aerial but you can't get to the house aerial this is a good alternative.
What i do like is the overall design and the nice blue light that looks good in the dark ,what I dislike about this Aerial unit are it doesn't seem to have much gain "power even though it does run off the mains " , and from the way the unit it feels ! , it feels cheap . I know you can not ask much of something if it's only £10 but at least it should work, but I do have to mention that the Area that I live in might be affecting the take up of the signals from the transmitter. Back Received a new aerial from a friend only £2.00 " can't find the brand name " , and it works like a charm . All of the teristerial channels b1 ,b2 ,ITV, ch4, and ch5 . I payed £10.00 and barley got anything ! . You pays your money and makes your choice.

Worked great for us.
I bought this as I had moved house and didn't have a roof aerial. Plugged in and with a bit of positioning got a fair few freeview channels but not all.As the local transmitter was at the other side of the house I decided to run some coax cable to that side and put in on the windowsill. I was then able to get all the freeview channels including HD with a perfect picture and very high signal levels. It was much better than the old indoor aerial I had tried upstairs. We also used a splitter to send the signal to our TV in the kitchen and that also gets all the SD channels (it's an old TV) after about 20m of cable. With the poor signal where we first had it the max gain switch made things worse (I guess it amplifies noise too), but at the other side of the room it doesn't make any noticeable difference which setting it is on. Also note that it does require mains power, it simply doesn't work when not plugged in.Our transmitter is 50W, about a mile away and blocked by the roof of a house and some trees.

As the old indoor aerial on one of my downstairs TVs works better than these I conclude it is a very average ...
Bought one of these and it happened to be for a TV in an upstairs room with a window facing the direction of the TV signal. It worked well and I was impressed and ordered two more for TVs in downstairs rooms. They did not work at all. you might note that people often buy longer aerial leads with these as the supplied one is short. As the old indoor aerial on one of my downstairs TVs works better than these I conclude it is a very average product and the aerial must be in the ideal position to give a satisfactory result or indeed any result.

August DTA300B Amplified Freeview TV Aerial - Indoor Digital Antenna
I bought this to use with a new Samsung 32" smart tv for the kids bedroom - so no conventional aerial outlet in there. As expected the tv found 0 channels with no aerial attachment and I wasn't sure which one to get. I read some reviews on Amazon and was guided by the price too - affordability is not an issue but I just didn't want to spend much on an aerial yet I obviously wanted something good that would get the best out of the tv.In the end I opted for the August DTA300B and once connected the tv auto-tuned and found over 140 tv & radio channels. The quality of the picture is very good which leads me to conclude that this aerial has done its job!!Therefore I would recommend this item. My only gripe - and it's fairly minor given that the product works - is that the lead from the electrical socket to the aerial could be longer allowing you greater flexibility to position the aerial. Obviously you're limited by how long the cable is and also how long the actual aerial cable from the tv to the item is. Like I said it's a minor gripe for me cos it works fine where it is.

Poor reception.
Purchased aerial after reading good reviews. Sadly even in North London signal reception was really poor. Strangely struggling to pick up BBC 1. Reverted back to original camping aerial.

Better than a Simple Indoor Antenna
Couldn't get a reliable signal with a simple antenna. This did the trick, fit my PBS signal and didn't have to go the cable route.
