Hailo 3555-101 Compact-Box Stainless Steel Bin, 15L

Easy to fit with clear instructions, not written but easy to follow drawings. Once fitted it works like a dream and a brilliant replacement to our old one. German made so feels quality and sturdy.

I have had many cupboard bins over the years and was all set to order my normal more expensive brand, however I saw the product rating for this product and the price and thought I'd give it a go. I'm so pleased with the bin. I'm not someone who usually writes reviews but this bin was well priced, really easy to install (I'm a female with limited DIY experience) and it was relatively painless. The only negative comment I would have is that the plastic lid is a little cheap, sturdy enough but it makes a cheap scratchy noisy when you close the cupboard and the bin lid flips over on to the bin. It's a minor thing really. The plastic bin that sits inside the stainless steel body is of good quality. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone. Great little product.

Good bin, and it would have been perfect for our needs, but the measurements on the diagram are incorrect for the actual swing distance so it had to be returned. There was a charge for returning, plus the seller requested returning by a tracked company, which would have cost more than what was paid for the item. We returning it per Amazon's instruction using the original delivery company, so just under 3 pounds charge.

The bin is very good but the installation document was horrendous to follow. Took me over 2 hours to work it out. I dont think it helps when there are no written procedures just non-accurate diagrams. Would I buy another, yes, as I now know what to expect!!

This was a replacement for the exact same bin I’ve had for years. Nice compact bin and quick delivery. Although the measurements are misleading. The height doesn’t need to be as high as stated as the lid doesn’t lift up, the bin just slides out and the lid stays in position. If I hadn’t already had one this would have stopped me purchasing it because i would have thought it wouldn’t fit in my island unit.

I bought this bin to replace same model I'd had over 30 years! Old one has performed really well, and I just thought I'd treat myself to a new one. The replacement slotted in place exactly and easily, using same screw holes - took me 15mins to swap. This new one has improved brackets - I had to modify the old top bracket to keep it going - so I'm really pleased, and confident this will serve me well.

For the price I think this is excellent value for money, the product feels high quality and everything fits easily out of the box. The only negative points I would have : 1. The instructions that come with the bin are not the easiest to follow (however, if you search online the company have a video tutorial that makes things much more clear) 2. The hinging lid does feel like maybe one day it might break, but that's a problem all bins of this type will suffer from.

We had one of these when we lived in Germany years ago and loved hiding the trash under the sink. When we moved into our new house with a smaller kitchen I knew I had to get one. Could not find one in any of the home improvement stores that worked the way the one we had in Germany did so I was thrilled to find this one on Amazon. Unfortunately the instructions are not in English and the measurements are in centimeters not inches. Just made installation a little more difficult, but still a great product!

I'm here because a Canadian plumber fell on my 12 yo one and destroyed the complete lid assembly (while installing a new dishwasher). Since German plumbers aren't as clumsy, the warranty does not cover this. I installed it myself but if you can get a SKILLED person to install it for you, do so! This is essential if you can't measure in millimeters. The two parts on the cabinet are easy. The thing on the door is much more finicky. The screws will probably strip if you don't drill pilot holes. (German grammar rules for English forbid "finickier".) When you shut the door, it's noisy. However, if you go very slow at 45°, it's quiet.
