The carbon is to reduce smells after the white filter has removed the grease, that's why you get 1 carbon filter as it lasts longer providing you protect it with the white grease pad! **Q: How thick is this product please?** A: The first lot I got was nice and sturdy thickness about 2.5mm the second lot was very flimsy foam maybe .5mm thick **Q: Which way round does the grease filter go? Plain white or striped? I don't have an indicator sticker.** A: The striped side is to face the hob when it in place. **Q: How do you keep these in place inside the hood?
