Not only have I used my set for leather punching but have also punched through aluminium foil of the thickness of foil baking trays. I didn't mind this extra effort as the price for the full set is so low. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Punches for a Pretty Price *by L***R on 18 March 2019* A good value for money set of punches that will cut there way through leather, rubber and other similar materials up to a few mm thick. Their use benefits from a steady hand and some force with a suitable hammer to punch out perfect circles. The punches are nicely manufactured for their relatively low cost (approx. a fiver) and will happily work over and over again as long as a soft wood base is used beneath the item being punched. If the tips dull over time they can be very carefully sharpened using a cutting stone etc. The only thing to be aware of is the sizes are approximate (in my case 5mm is actually 4.66mm, and 6 mm is 5.7mm etc.) and the material being punched must be capable of stretching to allow the thickness of the tools shaft to pass through when punching a hole. The larger diameter punches have quite thick shafts and force the material to stretch quite a lot. There are other style punches out there that are thinner (and likely much more expensive) but leather belts and rubber sheet etc. generally stretch without issue.
