These plant pots are hand made in Philadelphia using high quality terracotta clay made in the US. The two person team at Palmer Planter Company designs, creates, fires and packs each one with skill and care. Before loading it into the kiln we coated the pot in a silky layer of the finest clay particles, this layer is called terra sigillata (earth seal). You may see the imprints of our fingers where we hold the pot as it is dipped. Each planter has a drainage hole, critical for the health of your bulbs and plants. Traditional earthenware planters are perfect for outdoor use as the porous nature of the clay allows the plants root system to breath, letting moisture in and out. To use indoors, simply add a glazed saucer or plate to protect your counters from moisture. Overtime each planter will develop a unique and attractive patina. Earthenware planters will withstand mild winter weather. For the longest lifespan we recommend bringing them indoors during freezing weather. Due to the fact that each planter is hand made, please allow for slight differences in shape, size and color.
