The school were concerned about her falling in the playground once her cast was off but before the hospital had signed her off as completely healed. This sling was perfect. You can't see it from the picture but it has a nifty strap that goes around the waist, which holds the sling against the body. This means there is no danger of my daughter swinging her arm around and knocking it, and if she does fall she can't put her hand out to brace herself, which protects her bones most vulnerable spot. It is worth every penny. Review: Super Sling! - Cannot recommend this sling highly enough. My daughter broke her elbow and as is now the practice given no cast just a loose thin sling. She was naturally in extreme discomfort and could not sleep or move around very much at all, even on the maximum calpol and ibuprofen dose. The pain relief medication has now been able to be much reduced and I am hoping once it stabilises more, done away with completely.
