Have had this for a long time and both my children have loved it but we've now lost some of the pegs or little men. Are replacements available?

Would you say that this toy is small enough / suitable to take as a toy to amuse a 1 year old on their first flight abroad?!

It's a lovely toy, your child will play with for ages. Is it for travel with a 1 yr old? That depends. If the 1 yr old sits on your lap, or close, yes. It's too long to be swallowed, so it is safe enough. At 1, my daughter plaid with it mostly by exploring each peg with her hands and her mouth, and by trying to push it down. She was not quick enough in releasing it for it to spring, but she loved when we did it for her. Just keep in mind that it can spring quite far, to another seat, or the corridor, if you push it on the child's behalf, and that could be a nuisance to others. :)

Is the paint non toxic?
