Just Brilliant!
I have been researching steam cleaners for several months now but didn't feel confident about any of the cleaners I looked at, until I saw the Morphy Richards 9-in-1 steam cleaner. Seemed to do everything I wanted, had a powerful motor and good sized tank. My new cleaner arrived yesterday, did a trial run (as you do!) and now all my hard floors are gleaming. Seems to have lifted the grime from my kitchen and bathroom tiles beautifully and left them sparkling. My hall floor looks lovely too and I can't wait to experiment with all the other tools (oven next!!!) I found I got slightly less than the 14 minutes advertised for the length of time one fill of the water tank will last, but that could be because I was learning how to use it. I've also noticed that a lot of reviews for other steam cleaners complain that the floors are left very wet - not with this one, I found it perfect, just enough wetness to feel the floor was clean, but not so much that it took ages to dry. All the parts come apart and fit together really easily and the box comes with very clear instructions to follow. Also, can't speak highly enough of Morphy Richards customer service. I had a problem registering the product online, but by contacting their customer service, they proceeded to do it for me. To sum up, this cleaner is an excellent price for the quality of the product, light to handle, but heavy on results - what more can I say One word of warning though, make sure you thoroughly vac' or sweep the floors before you steam clean. I thought I'd done an excellent job by sweeping thoroughly, but the steam cleaner still 'found' yet more dust!! If I have one complaint, it's that the cord could be slightly longer, but that's just me being picky because I'm lazy and don't like to keep repositioning the plug!

Fantastic at cleaning
I ordered this model as WHICH? Magazine had it as the top multi steam cleaner and I can see why. The mop is brilliant. I used it on a stain in the bathroom that I could not shift and it got rid of most of it. Will need another going over but that's to be expected. The dirt from my carpet was unreal; I thought my home was clean how wrong I was! I have used it on the tiled kitchen floor again really good and it doesn't leave the floor wet, it dried so quickly. I have just this morning tried it on a rug that smells really damp so I will come back and review that later. This model scored top marks for removing odours from fabrics so we shall see. I cleaned my kitchen tiles with it and they are gleaming. Normally it takes a lot of scrubbing to remove the grease but this steam cleaner makes it a breeze. Obviously you will need to wipe the tiles after as you cannot expect to just steam it and leave it; the steam is water after all! The only 'fault' with this model is the design of the hand-held steam cleaner. The person designing it must have been non-domesticated as it is quite awkward to clean certain things with it. For example I was cleaning the top of the fridge and work surfaces, now it makes a brilliant job however due to the fact the end cleaning pad isn't angled enough you almost have to stand the hand held part upright which isn't easy to do as you have to press the button at the top, hold the device and be careful of the steam vent on the back!! Bit of a mission however I have found my own way of holding it now I have got used to it. Next time Morphy Richards think about the design a bit more, not so upright next time. The cleaning power I cannot fault however if you expect it to work miracles I would avoid ALL steam cleaners - miracle workers they are not!! You have to be realistic when purchasing one of these. I haven't tried it on the oven which is the 'big one' however I do not expect it to suddenly remove all the ground on grease like you see on the adverts - what a gimmick! You do need a bit of elbow grease on some jobs but hey you get a sparkling home without the need for all those nasty chemicals which is the main reason I bought it being an allergy sufferer and having children and pets - don't want them breathing in nasty chemicals. To sum up this is a brilliant cleaner for a great price; I would not change it for the world, faults and all.

115 degrees of steam power saves you mucho elbow grease
I'm pretty well over the moon with this product. Again, I don't know why it took me so long to get one? I'm really fussy about my kitchen floor and thought my manual system of cleaning it was good enough. How wrong could I be? Its worth noting that I didn't even buy the machine for the kitchen floor, but have been converted all the same. Basically, I was testing it out, and saw that after I'd done the tiles, the worktops, behind the microwave and around some pipes, that there were drips on the floor. So I switched to floor steaming mode. As a first time, it took me a while to get into the swing of it, especially the corners. Then noticed that the underside of my Birkenstocks were causing smears, so I steamed them as well. After that, the kitchen floor was a lot easier to do. I thought the floor was left a little wet though, but that was probably because the microfibre cloth supplied is not really thick enough. (I later bought the thicker one from MR directly, which also comes with a better carpet cloth and an extension hose for hard-to-reach places - £19.00 kit, could be less on here?). Verdict: what amazed me was how long the floor remained clean after steaming it! I think that because you're 'sterilising' as well as cleaning, and all without the use of chemicals, the feel of the floor to walk on afterwards is extremely squeaky clean and remains so for days. Plus 'no streaks'! Since then I also did all the skirting boards and laminate beading using the single jet nozzle, and wiping the area after steaming with a dry microfibre cloth to get the melted grime off. There are videos on YouTube on how to do this. I also finished off the kitchen floor with a dry flat mop. I probably wont need to do that next time, as I'm switching to the thicker floor cloth they sent me but I might because I'm really funny about any kind of streaks left behind. I figure you have to wash the microfibre cloths afterwards anyway, so why not add the one from the dry mop too? Noticed e.g. Karcher's steam cleaner heats to 180 degrees of steam but this one is only 115. As its well over boiling point, you don't have to worry that its not powerful enough, because I have a burn on my wrist to prove it. Not sure how that happened, but I was in the corner of the kitchen, crouching on the floor and as I rested the handheld section on an old tray, it kind of twisted and got me. Who cares, the item is extremely worthwhile! Update 13/03/14: I cannot praise this nifty gadget enough. I've steam-cleaned the kitchen and bathroom walls, radiators and doors before painting, doors that were not going to be painted, mirrors, pipes, tiles, hob, oven door, glass doors, skirting boards, bins, soles of shoes etc. I don't really see the point of manually cleaning something with buckets and scourers and wotnots, because it always leaves a residue. Steam cleaning leaves everything super-squeaky clean. I've thrown out my mop and bucket and pretty soon plan to revive some rugs. I always wear gloves and use de-ionised water, because you get a lot more steam from that type of water than cooled boiled water. I don't really bother with any of the attachments and just use the narrow utility nozzle and a dry microfiber cloth.

Superb
This is the 3rd Steam Cleaner I've purchased this year. The first one being a cheap & cheerful, unbranded model. The second one being a model that is £100+ and has the letter X & number 5 in the model name, which broke within 2 days of using it (extremely flimsy). Finally, this little beauty from Morphy Richards! The Morphy Richards 9-in-1 steam cleaner is simple to use and extremely effective at cleaning. I have used this on my windows & laminate flooring and it just glides through cleaning them in no time at all and leaves a lovely clean finish. I've also cleaned some metal railings outside my home that had mold & mildew build up and it's left them really clean indeed. When cleaning the laminate flooring, it doesn't leave everything soaking and will not ruin your laminate when used in conjunction with the micro fibre cloths that are supplied. The attachments are easy to attach and remove and are not flimsy like some other models on the market (X5). It's lightweight and very easy to handle. The only slight drawback and it is slight is that you are recommended to use de-ionized water, but a quick trip to my local Halfords to purchase to 5L bottles of the stuff for £6 sorted that. Another ever so slight drawback is that in handheld mode the steamer can feel a bit heavy. Again it is only a very minor issue. I'm really impressed with this cleaner and for the price the product is excellence personified! I would have no issue in recommending this product to anyone who is looking to purchase a steam cleaner to do those multiple cleaning tasks around the home and beyond. For the price, the quality is superb. Seriously, buy it and you will NOT be disappointed. I'm going to use it on my kitchen and bathroom tiles as soon as I have finished re-decorating and then tackle the mess that is my oven.

OK product but not a miracle worker
Update after 11 months of occasional use: The original unit was replaced as the original went faulty. The new product as a much shorter mains cable, a minor issue but inconvenient, the window cleaning attachment is useless, the rubber (important part) keeps falling out everytime I use it, making it almost impossible to clean windows with it now, one of the main things we bought it for. Having watched a few video's prior to buying this product before Xmas I was hoping for more, but don't get me wrong, it is a great product, just not like some manufactures claim in their sales videos. Morphy Richards made no such claims and their video seemed acceptable, videos by others appear to be using their editorial licence to the extreme, mainly where cleaning of ovens is concerned and the no need for other cleaning products you buy from the shop (you will still need those). Our house is one of the cleanest I know with a very house proud wife that cleans the house weekly, we have no pets and wear slippers, non smokers and are very tidy people. My 1st job was the interior of a car that had a slight cigarette smell, that developed after owning the 1 year old car for 6 months, the dealer must have put a smell remover in the system, to hide the smell before I bought the car, I steam cleaned the head lining and the seats, I had a slight water mark on one of my seats and this too was removed. The oven, it always looks like it has only been used a few times without cleaning it, there are some tough streak marks that we have been unable to shift with normal cleaning agents, the only way to remove them was by a sharp blade and scraping the offending mark away, other than that, I tackeled it with the normal Xmas turkey deposits. It took roughly 1 hour to clean the oven, using all sorts of attachments, however, the steamer could not have cleaned the oven without the help of other cleaning agents being used. Sadly the the stubborn marks remain, the steamer is no real tough remover, but the lighter fat marks were OK. I tried using the flat blade and stiff brush on the racks, but it failed to make much of an impact without other devises being used. I did try for a,long time to make it work, but failed to make much of an impact. Grout between the tiles on the hall floor, it is light grey with 5 years of built up dirt, despite being cleaned each week by mop & bucket each week. Using the stiff brush it cleaned the bulk of the dirt away, but the more heavily soiled ares it could not touch the marks, this was despite me spending nearly all afternoon over the Xmas break on it, other cleaning agents will be needed at a later date. As far as cleaning the tiles on the floor, it seemed OK and did the job easily. Shower glass doors, two bathrooms to report on, the kids bathroom, I do not enter this area normally, but armed with my new steam cleaner, I felt obliged, the glass panels were (I hate to admit this) thick with splashes, dried shampoo, etc etc, and have not been cleaned properly in 5 years, I know my wife has cleaned in there, but we generally leave it to the kids to keep clean. Looking through the glass was like looking through fog, and this was with the glass dry. The steamer helped loosen and warm the dirt, and did remove some, but a branded limescale remover was required and about 2 to 3 hours of careful but hard cleaning, I was absolutly worn out at the end ( I am a reasonable fit 50+ year old that can leave me teenage kids & others behind in fitness terms), the result was, doors looking like new as were the tiles, sink, loo & bath. Our bathroom is wiped clean after every use, so the glass doors cleaned much easier, There was far less limscale on the glass, but it still needed the limscale cleaning agent to stand any chance of cleaning the glass. Using both, these panels cleaned within an hour, like the kids bathroom, the cleaning of the outside glass panels was easy and left everything clean and gleaming. We live in the Chilterns and our water has a high chalk content. Windows, based on the clean glass shower panels I can not wait to clean all my windows in the near future, I know they will be excellent. 12 months later, sadly, even with practice, I can not make them perfectly clean, I am very fussy and do not like any kind of marks left, especially the sort that can be seen only when the sun is setting. Two small issues I have, the attachments do bend around the longer you use the device, this is only applicable when you use the detachable hand held device rather than the long handeled set up, it appears the attachments want to come off if you turn the device and this is with light pressure, & not being heavy handed. The other issue is, when cleaning the car roof lining, you had to be very careful not to allow the water pipe to run dry. So in short, this is a OK product and works reasonably well, but you need to be prepared to spend time, money & a good bit of effort to clean everything when you first get it, it will not do away with other cleaning agents (in my opinion) and do not believe everything other sales videos claim, they are not a miracle tool. But providing you keep at it and clean every now and then at least to keep on top of the dirt, life should become cleaner and life easier

Finally one that works!
After trying another steam cleaner with dismal results, I was very reluctant to try another. Thanks to the many reviews on this product and the currently nice price, I decided it was time to take the plunge, and I am so glad I did!! It arrived the next day in very good packaging. It was extremely easy to set up and put together. Approximately 5 minutes after arrival, I had filled it with (deionized) water and it was ready to go. Nervously placing it on the kitchen laminate flooring and starting the cleaning process, I was overly joyed to hear proper steam puffs come out of it and see the floor NOT being left in a wet mess that would take hours to dry! Once kitchen was done, it was with a pure joy I carried on with the bathrooms. All three floors were dry within 10 minutes. I did have a go at the carpets in the bedrooms to, and with the attachment underneath it moved really easily over the carpets and did not leave them feeling soaked, but naturally they took a bit longer to dry, about an hour. The handheld part works just as well and the many attachments made cleaning the cooker hood in the kitchen and the hob an easy job, and it tackled the bathroom facilities just as well. The only small downsides to this product in my opinion, and they are very small, are: -The upright steam mop is a bit short for a tall (6 feet) person. You need to bend your back while moving it back and forth to clean the floor. -The handheld part is quite heavy, not a problem for me personally and I prefer the weight over a "plastic and cheap" version! But worth mentioning. -You need deionized water. Again, not a problem per se but could have been more clear on the description page. I only knew because of the reviews.) -The cord could have been longer. All in all, very good value for your money and it certainly does the job! Well done Morphy Richards.

A good steam mop
I used to have the Morphy Richards multisurface floor steam cleaner which was very light and easy to use. This one has nine different uses but I still only use it for the floors. Compared to my previous mop it does feel much heavier so I wouldn’t recommend it if weight is an issue. The cloth heads also have to be secured more firmly compared to just the Velcro stick on pads for the multi floor cleaner. You also have to push a lever on the handle while using the mop to release the steam which does this make this a little more difficult to use compared to my previous model. Having said that, once you start mopping with this, it does move around the floor quite easily and the head swivels well allowing you to get right to the edges of the floor. It heats up quickly and does not leave a puddle of water which I know other brands of steam mops do. This means the floors also dry very quickly. You get two cloth mop heads with the mop but it’s worth buying a few more. They do wash well in the washing machine. I use the steam mop on tiles and engineered wood floors and occasionally on carpets and it works very well on all of them. Morphy Richards recommends using distilled water but I have seen some people say that they use tap water with no problem. However, I swapped to tap water on my old model and although it worked fine for a while, it suddenly just stopped. I’m not risking it with this one.

Pleased with performance.
I bought this to replace a 40'ish year old big 'bucket boiler' steam cleaner. The main job I wanted it for was to clean and naturally sterilize the vinyl floor of my massage room where oily footprints show up and are slippy. The old one was bulky & heavy, took a long time to heat up the water and then just kept belching out the steam which made everywhere wet ... really clean but took ages to dry. This one is light and manouverable, and swivels to get into corners and around things. I made the mistake of waiting for the water to heat up as my old one did: this works a bit like a steam iron by the cold water passing over a heater to produce the steam so is ready almost straight away. You pull the trigger, the water 'gluggles' through and steam comes out ... as much or as little as you want/need ... while you push it backwards and forwards. The pads fit on really well with a locking toggle cord and there is a plate attachment for carpets. The extra tools cover a nice range of cleaning needs and come in a draw-string bag. The water tank clips in and out of the hand-held unit and the hand held unit clips into the mop handle/head. I thought the filler cap was fiddly/stiff till I realised you have to line up the arrow and the unlocked symbol. I cleaned about 15sqm on a quarter of a tank of water, the cord just reached from one end to the other of my 14ft room. It is easy to store requiring little more room than a broom, and needs minimal setting up to get ready for use. It came in time stated. It was just in the display box (with no sticky tape just the address label) which was a bit battered by the 'chuck & run' Hermes gang but the mop was undamaged by the pre-formed inner padding holding it firm. You needed to put the handle together with a couple of screws. The instruction book is quite clear. I bought special water, and extra pads so I can make up a washing load when they are dirty, you get two with the mop. I will add to this review when I have had a go with the tools in hand-held mode. I was pleased with my old steamer but think the modern facilities this offers will be even better. Update on performance as a hand held steam cleaner ... Due to a long-term recovery from an accident my ensuite had been cleaned enough to be hygienic but had missed out on it's periodic 'bottoming' (spring clean, but more often). There was a lot of calcified soap scum and grimy grouting, and some mould build-up in 'intricate to get to' places. The steamer is doing a good job. But if your shower is as neglected as mine and you're expecting to stand there, wave it like a magic wand and witness a miracle ... don't hold your breath. I did need to give it a helping hand comprised of a non-stick pan scourer, a dobble of jif and a bit of elbowgrease ... but it had definately loosened the grime and made the job quite a lot easier. I was very impressed by the long thin grouting brush which got the grouting and the sealing filler as clean as bleach but didn't turn it bright blue. Yes, as others have said, you do need to wipe over with a dry cloth to prevent water marks, but that is 'normal practice' if you want gleaming tiles etc however you have cleaned them. Hints: with the 'pointy' tool on the steam comes out in a very powerful and effective but noisy jet so if you're using it in an enclosed space it is 'bordering' on deafening. Also in this situation your glasses may steam up a bit. The special tools push and clip onto the pointy tool; be aware when you change them they are quite hot. If you have toiletry racks/shelves in your cubicle that can be taken down it is quicker and easier than being a contortionist trying to get device at the right angles to direct the steam into the little corners. There is a 'bent' pointy tool which is ideal for getting right back in and under ledges/runners such as the shower door slides on. Even though I have needed to use some elbow grease alongside the steamer on this occasion I am still very pleased with it's performance. When I use it for regular 'bottoming' I don't think it will need my help again. So ... I have just cleaned the guest cloakroom. It is not used very often so was just grubby, not 'used and abused' like the ensuite. There were some areas where the grouting was grey'ish and black rings round the base of the tap pillars. This time I did very little more than 'wave the wand' to sort it out. The gunge was flying off and I only needed to catch it in a damp cloth. I think things will be kept much more sparkling now as it's going to be easier to keep on top of them. Finally used it to clean a carpet. It glides easily on the special plate supplied, got the stains out well without over-wetting the pile. To say I am well pleased with my purchase is an understatement.

Abbastanza buono
