Brilliant and Cheap!
I loved this product. I bought them for my son as a christmas present and they are absolutely fantastic. They come in a very sturdy box with the cards inside. The cards are a great educational tool as they are fantastic at teaching my child different words. The addition of pictures were wonderful in ensuring my child was kept interested in learning the words. I would definitely recommend this product. I have used flash cards previously however they were awful quality and much smaller compared to this product. The cards are just the right size for my child to easily read the words. The price was very good also as with most things on Amazon they were far cheaper than high street retailers. If I'm being really picky i would of preferred a case for the cards as eventually the cardboard box will become worn out however for the price i suppose you can't expect much more for what i paid. Overall to summarize the cards are a cheap, good educational tool for your child to learn a new set of words and numbers alike which is key in their academic development. The cards are great quality, in colour and are the perfect size which ultimately will keep your child interested. I would definitely recommend this product for everyone with small children who are in the midst of their development. I really hope you enjoyed reading this review and i hope it gave you a better understanding and insight into the product.

A great resource for starting children off with reading
I bought this to familiarise my son (almost 3) with some commonly used words and get him to recognise the actual words and not just the pictures. I love the games made by Orchard Toys and I have to say these cards are great too! The pictures are clear and well drawn, and the text is also clear and easy to read. They are not particularly thick, but that just means you can get more in the box. Given that I use this with my son, rather than letting him look on his own, they don't need to be any tougher. We started looking at 5 of the cards to begin with, and have repeated the process every day for the last 3 days (my son keeps asking me to play mummy's new card game). He now recognises all 5 words without needing to see the picture, and we will start adding more now. One word of caution is with the numbers: my son keeps wanting to tell me what the picture is of (e.g. cake) rather than the number of items (in this case, 1) and this might have worked better using the actual number (1) and the word (one) rather than pictures. This is a minor point as it only affects 10 cards.

Fun for my 15month old son!
My son is 15 months, and clearly enjoys these cards and calling out the ones he knows. They are a great distraction tool at the dinner table (when he's losing interest but we are still eating) and although at his age some of the concepts are hard to grasp, we've simply divided the cards into ones we use now, and ones we will introduce later. They're large cards, with clear pictures on the front and on the otherside the word is clearly printed. They come a fairly robust card board box, so you can keep them all together. I'm not trying to create a baby genius or anything, but what is clear is that my son enjoys and recognises them, helping him to make sense, and feel in control of his environment, and it's fun! On the whole very pleased!

Decent quality flash cards
Great cards that only fall short of 5* due to some odd choices. The font is not great in certain respects. The 'f' and 't' are near identical (if you rate the t it looks exactly like the f) so it makes it harder for a child to distinguish. For example if you are learning 'fish' and 'tree' visually the starting letters can easily be mixed up. Also another very odd choice imho was the way they have done the numbers. So instead of the number 5 being printed above the word five, they have printed 5 fish (or whatever it is) which also leads to more confusion. I understand how it could be used to count the 5 fish but it wouldn't be my first choice when using it as a teaching aide for my daughter and as such I have removed these cards.

A real educational hit
My son loves these flash cards and as we started with them when he was 18 months he was able to point to the right card long before he could say it. He loves playing with these cards and will often go and get them himself which is great. We are now at the stage where he tells me what most of them are called and we are still working on getting the last few words although he can point at all of them if asked where a specific one is (apart from the number ones). These are going to provide another few years of fun as we can then move onto counting and eventually reading. The cards are a nice size and sturdy although I wouldn't let me play with them unsupervised as I think they would get damaged.

Fantastic little flashcards
These are great flashcards. The pictures are very clear and colourful and all quite relevant (some other flashcards seem to include quite obscure things that probably aren't necessary, the only cards I wasn't so bothered about in this pack were the king and queen which I Ieft out initially). I bought these for my daughter when she was nearly 15 months and she loved them and knew nearly all of them within a few weeks. I would definitely advise laminating, I'm sure it makes them a lot more fun for my daughter that she can have them out and look through them by herself which would have been a recipe for disaster had I not laminated them. The box the cards comes in is also quite large for the cards which means that they still all fit even once laminated, which is an added bonus. If you're thinking about buying simple first word flashcards then I would definitely recommend!

Baby sensory item & ideal as a gift for a baby shower
Orchard Toys Flashcards are amazing- brought for a 3 month old to show and make noises for the animal cards, and use later on when he's older....they are big enough, nice illistrations and he is SO interested and squeels with laughter at the actions and noises that are associated with each animal picture. There are obviously a selection of items- not just animal- but they will last us for a long time as he develops more and more. ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT will buy more from Orchard Toys other flashcards. Ultimate baby sensory item MUST BUY! Thankyou!! p.s. If you are buying for baby- have seen they sell jungle animals and farm animal packs which would probably be a better starter for the 3 month old +

Great for Two Years Old
Used for my two year old twins. They are more interested in how many cards they can get (when they get a word right) and then throwing them - so the durability of these are good! They accidentally step on them, fall on them and throw them at the dog - they have still lasted and not ripped so excellent quality. I separated the words out - so we did a few for a while and when they were good at those added more in which has worked really well. Add in actions for extra fun!

My sons fav & a go to gift!
These were my son's absolute favorite for his 2nd bday and they remained so for close to a year. We lost once here n there and they were worn with time but they held up for quite some time & long enough and he loved the photos and he learned alot of words n things with these cards! Now I buy them whenever a 1st/2nd bday pops up! I will buy again and again bc I seen how well my son did with them and will be buying them for my second boy as well just to have a fresh set & so many are missing now but. Definitley recommend! Please mark the helpful or not helpful! I try my best to leave informational reviews/my experience/anything that could be helpful for someone looking; with these I don't think there needs much more, they are as described & expected!

Good product
The cards are fun to show ur child. Images are colorful and well defined. The only problem is the numbers card doesn't have the image of the number but spells it out in English. However my son is a year old and is too young for spellings or numbers, so for this age, the cards are perfect.
