Good powerful blowtorch for diy use.
Many years ago I used to have a Ronson blowtorch, it got lost somewhere over two house moves. When I needed to do some brazing ( hard soldering) I looked on Amazon to buy another one.... Ronson probably doesn’t exist anymore they certainly don’t do blowtorches. I did see however a really neat cooks blowtorch for a bargain price. Well the neat little blowtorch might be great for flambé but they certainly aren’t powerful or hot enough for what I needed.Back on Amazon I spied this Campingaz blowtorch, well I recognised the manufacturer from my camping days so I thought I’d give it a shot.Great little blowtorch. Fires up with its own piezoelectric spark ( had to use matches with the Ronson.) and has a fierce roaring flame. Did my brazing in a couple of minutes.I see some reviewers had trouble with ignition and with the flame cutting out, fortunately I didn’t experience any difficulties though I have only done the one job with it.I imagine it’s fine for the occasional job but if you plan on doing a lot of hard/soft soldering or paint stripping perhaps you should spend a bit more.I’ve attached a photo of the little block (centre of pic.) I hard soldered back onto my ancient air pistol.

Great little blowlamp
This is the second one of these I've bought the reason being I left it outside for a long while in all weathers. It did continue to work the spark igniter being the first thing to go.I have used the blowlamp for soldering copper fittings making creme brulee and for lighting my wood fired pizza oven and it's pretty much been faultless. The spark igniter is a real bonus as it makes it much easier to light.Great little blowlamp priced reasonably

Campinggaz blowlamp
This is the third one I have had of these, on the previous two, both had failures of the piezo ignition. This is ok for general handy work, but as others say, if you face it downwards, it often flares, and then puts itself out. It becomes rather annoying after a while. Basically, it's the old story, you get what you pay for. If you want quality, you have to pay the price.

Great for Creme Brulee and heating up those rusted nuts ...
Great for Creme Brulee and heating up those rusted nuts on the old Land Rover! Recommended as a gift for "her" when you will really keep it in your garage. I recommend you keep it clean if you dont want to upset your lady! It is very easy to use and the ignite switch works great.

Quality build with faults
its a nicely built torch but depending on your intended use it may not be suitable. I bought to start the charcoal off in a kamado, this involves pointing the torch downwards, something it doesn't light and results in it blowing itself out. It works fine on the level (I guess its intended purpose) so it isn't faulty, just no good for starting a BBQ! Also after a week the piezo failed so requires a spark to light

Great workshop addition
I bought this for the workshop to head rusty nuts and bolts. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was at tackling even the most stubborn bolts. The butane and propane mix seems to be the key in getting enough heat.
