Bosch F016800371 23 cm Strengthened Durablade for Grass Trimmer

I read some of the reviews that were critical of this product. Some suggest that they are not durable and that they are too expensive. However, having tried them I feel that the opposite is true. I can only assume that those who say that they break too easily are probably not mindful of solid objects that might be encountered whilst strimming, such as pathways, tree stumps and hard landscaping. My strimmer like most has an adjustable guard, which if set correctly, will allow one to strim up to garden walls etc without the blade making contact with them. I bought 5 packs of 10 blades and am still using the first one that I fitted. It has been used at least 6 times with no breakages and little sign of wear.

I like Bosch and have many products around the house and garden from them. We bought the strimmer and thought it would be a good ide to get spare blades. If these hit a stone, concrete or a tough blade of grass (seriously) the plastic disappears. We thought it might be us, not using it correctly, but after trying and experiencing the blades just get worn away, we have given up and gone back to a strimmer with a nylon thread. If you are cutting long grass horizontally, these are fine. Any kind of angle or coming up against a hard surface like patio or driveway these just melt. Utterly useless.

The first three pictures show the wear on these blades after just 15 minutes of cutting grass (no stones, wood, logs, etc - just long grass). They might as well have been made of Play-Dough!Compare these to the last two pictures. These show the original supplied blade after several WEEKS of work in the same environment and conditions.If I could give this product zero stars, I would!

These blades are described as 'Innovative Durablades last 12 times longer than current blades' and claim 'No more blade breakages' I am sorry but I didn't find this. The blades fit my Bosch strimmer perfectly. They cut through grass and weeds fine, but the second I tried to cut up against my fence or a stone step they just broke off. Consequently I am using a blade ever time I cut the grass. I can't recommend them

Is this the worst product design ever ? A tool for doing the edge of a garden that disintegrates if it comes in contact with anything tougher than grass! I would not recommend this product.

Disappear like lightning, I made the mistake of buying a cordless Bosch strummer, it is a gutless wonder that eats blades, back to the old electrical plug in striker with plastic wire

Not the best quality, needed to use 2 for a not very big garden. Are a fraction of the cost of the official ones so are still cheaper even if you use a few at a time. They work well apart from the short lifespan

Great product and flexible as well as durable. I have bought these from another supplier but they were too brittle and so I had to replace them every time.
