Review: Good quality Duracell rechargeable batteries - These Duracell brand rechargeable AA batteries have proved reliable through multiple recharges. I use them mostly in Xbox controllers, battery-powered Christmas lights and remote controls. They work well in each of these applications although, as with most rechargeable batteries last somewhat less time than equivalent non-rechargeable alkaline batteries (probably lasting about two-thirds the time of alkaline ones). But being able to use them again and again of course means that there is the potential to save a lot of money. They charge fairly quickly, although some of that performance will be down to the type of charger that you have. Once charged, they do seem to retain that charge very well over time even if not being used which is definitely a good thing when using rechargeable batteries. There are clearly other less well-known brand rechargeable batteries which come in larger quantities for a similar price. So it’s probably a matter of personal preference whether the Duracell brand gives an extra level of assurance. But for reliability, longevity and a known brand I’m very pleased with these.
Review: I actually can't remember the last time I bought a normal set of non-rechargeable AA batteries... - I actually can't remember the last time I bought a normal set of non-rechargeable AA batteries as I've been purchasing rechargeable Duracell batteries for years now. I have a man drawer with a few spares in that have been charged up so I always have some handy when I need them. Unlike non-rechargeable batteries I find that you don't get much warning with these before they are nearly completely depleted so it's a good idea to have a few pre-charged ones spare. Despite lots of devices using Li-Ion batteries these days I've actually found that the number of devices around the house that require AA batteries has increased. Things like digital cameras, remote controls, wireless computer keyboards, wireless mice, console joypads, Oculus Rift touch controllers, children's toys and even electronic doorbells, to name a few, all still seem to require them. The nice thing about these batteries is that they arrive pre-charged so they don't require charging (although I suspect they will not be charged to 100%). They also claim to retain 80% of their change after 12 months if they are not used which is great news for the ones that I have stored in the man drawer. These can also be recharged up to 400 times... if that's true then these are going to last a long time! Of course it will be difficult to verify these claims for a while but if they fail to live up to expectations then I will update my review. They also come with a 5 years warranty with Duracell - I hope I never need to use it! These seem to be genuine batteries and look like the real thing. I used a couple of them recently (for Oculus Rift touch controllers) and they appear to be working fine so I have no complaints so far! Pros: - Amazing value compared to regular non-rechargeable batteries - 2500mAh so should be good for more demanding devices - Batteries come pre-charged (although unlikely to be 100% charged) - Hold their charge when not in use (i.e. 80% of charge after 1 year) - Can potentially be recharged up to 400 times - 5 year warranty - Better for environment than non rechargeable batteries as you are reusing them repeatedly as opposed to disposing of them (batteries are full of harmful chemicals and heavy metals). - WAY cheaper from desertcart than the local supermarkets (nearly half the price) Cons: - Perhaps a little expensive when compared to non-rechargeable batteries but they really do pay for themselves after a few charges. - You get very little warning when the batteries are running out of charge. Always a good idea to have some on standby. Neutral: - As with any rechargeable battery it requires time to recharge

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these made in Japan?**
A: (Updated):

My set (purchased 10/2020) are made in China. My set were purchased direct from Amazon.co.uk as opposed to a third party seller

**Q: Can these be charged in any battery charger? I have an old Uniross Ni-Cd & Ni-MH charger**
A: I bought these to replace the old worn out rechargeable batteries in my home cordless phone . which has some unknown charging system inside it. I would therefore presume that provided your charger works it will charge any rechargeable battery. It might just take longer to do it

**Q: tThinking of buying Duracell D MN1300 x2 re-chargable batteries for my Roberts Splash DAB shower radio, are they worth it?**
A: i bought the duracell batteries for my roberts duologic radio, but when i read the radio instructions roberts recomended a higher output battery, so i changed them for energizer 2500 mah nimh and they have been great, last very well and power the radio perfectly.hope that helpsregards john

**Q: are they supplied ready charged**
A: Mine were charged. Used a canon 430 ex 2 flash probably 200ish times yesterday and they were still going strong. Not sure if there’s a way to tell how much charge they have left.
