Sony HT-CT180 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer (100 W, Clear Audio Plus, Virtual Surround Sound, Bluetooth and NFC)

This is a premium product at a bargain price. Setup is a doddle, wireless subwoofer allows it to be placed anywhere you like without messy cables. Sound quality is as you would expect from Sony, top notch, extremely clear and precise sound. One niggle is that the power leads on the sound bar and woofer are a little short. Also if you get an echo sound when connected to your tv, just disable your tvs internal speaker. Should also note that the subwoofer volume can be controlled by the remote, which is a nice touch. Bluetooth music steaming also works great from your smartphone as is easily paired with nfc.

Ok so it's not the loudest system in the world but for the price it's great. Quality of the sound is good with good range and clear voices. On music the bass is excellent with the option of turning the subwoofer up or down separate to the main bar. No lag on sound compared to screen from what I have seen. Over all you get what you pay for and this looks good. Sounds good and most of all does the job brilliantly.

I'm not a techie at all, but the soundbar and sub woofer sound really good to me in a normal sized living room. My tv doesn't have an optical connection so (as advised by Sony) mine is connected via the headphone socket on the tv. It was so easy to set up - just plug in and go. The sound is good, with plenty of volume to spare. I use it for listening to the tv and also for listening to music through Spotify from my tablet using the bluetooth capability. I would agree with other reviewers, though, that some kind of volume indicator would be a bonus. I have experienced no sound lag at all.

Using it in the bedroom for a 40 inch Tv,iPad and my mobile.Sound is obviously a huge step up from the weak tv speakers on all slim Tv's. Easy to set up with Bluetooth for all your devices and soundbar looks good.Sub woofer is just ok when using surround sound,was expecting a bit more kick but will do for medium size rooms. Really solid product for the price,would recommend to newcomers using sound bars,speaker systems.

Just fitted this to my Sony Bravia via optical cable (supplied) and also connected to my Sony Xperia Z5 via Bluetooth. The sound is fantastic, the bass is out of this world, I can't believe what I've been missing. The bar itself is beautifully manufactured and is of Sony's usual high standard. The subwoofer is a great addition but it is a bit big, however you soon forget about the size when you feel the bass. I'm playing Hall and Oates via Bluetooth from my phone and the sound is crystal clear and the bass is awesome, looking forward to watching some gigs on the tv

If you own a flat screen television with speakers that don't give you the sound you truly want, yet can't afford a surround sound setup.... then you are left either with the TV alone or tempted to buy a soundbar. I confess that I was in that bracket. I own a HUD 4K Sony and blu ray package, the speakers are ok, but I wanted more detail. And that is where I decided to go for a soundbar. I believed that the soundbar and subwoofer combo of the CT180 would do the business. I was sadly mistaken. The package itself comes in an L shaped box, and when you unpack it, you find that the subwoofer is linked wirelessly to the soundbar. It can be awkward to link them, and get your TV or blu ray to link to them either via Bluetooth or optical cable. When you finally get it all working you will find that the subwoofer reacts well to the lower end of the range but is a little gutless u less you push the volume up. And the soundbar is slightly tinny to midrange but doesn't do a movie soundtrack justice. In fact, it's surround sound feature doesn't work. No matter how many whistles and bells are proudly announces on the box, the add one just don't work the way you would hope, want or expect for £139. For that price, you can buy a Yamaha surround sound package with more guts and gusto. Not to mention the fact that the soundbar is trying to cover all bases with treble and mid range compared to say the Yamaha system. So in conclusion would I recommend this product? If you want to stream music via your laptop or phone via NFC or Bluetooth, then yes, it is a decent enough product to do that well. But if you're looking for an important addition to you TV and movie viewing then I would suggest you steer clear of soundbars in general. It's good but it's not right. 3 stars I'm afraid and it was sent back by me to Amazon. Shame....

Had to return this product as unable to sync sound with the pictures. We have a sony TV so I thought I would get the sony soundbar. On the plus side it looks good and has a wireless sub woofer so this can be placed anywhere and the sound is very good. However, when you connect with the optical cable the sound is behind the action meaning you cannot lips sync the tv and sound bar. Connecting the analogue lead into the headphones socket is better but still out meaning, ​if you turn up the sound on the tv there is still a noticeable delay. on reading the troubleshooting instructions is said when playing a movie the sound will be delayed! I went onto the forums thinking I would be able to resolve the issue by changing settings on the tv but it seems this is a common problem with this particular soundbar and I could not find a fix even with the suggested hard reset. This makes tv unwatchable in my opinion and so unit had to go back which is a shame. I could not recommend this product.

think all the reviews have said it all. Do find the fact that sound doesn't compensate as my TV did so you get it going loud for some programmes and then softer for others. This is quite noticeable when watching the news. I would add is that it does have teardrop fixings if you want to mount on a wall. There is no information on brackets to use and as I have a Sony TV I looked for Sony brackets with no success and all the universal ones dont seem to cover this type of fixing without modifications. In the end we used a couple of short lengths of 'bat strap' fixed to our cantilever wall bracket and then found bolts that would fit the fixing points and attached these to the straps using nuts. The bar slots into these and they are barely visible between the top of the TV and the sound bar., although you could just as well fix it underneath but we didnt habe enough clearance. Total cost about £3.

Acabo de ordenar la barra de sonido, esperaré a que llegue e iré modificando mi reseña conforme la pruebe, por ahora confiaré en las demás reseñas y le doy 5 estrellas esperando que será un buen producto. Edit 31 Agosto 2016 El producto me llegó el día acordado, fue muy fácil de instalar y la conexión por Bluethoot funciona perfecto con mi celular y mi iPad, aún no pruebo conectarla a mi TV con el cable óptico pero en cuento lo haga lo agregaré a la reseña. La calidad de sonido es muy buena y los graves y bajos suenan muy bien, el volumen es adecuado para mi cuarto, no sé qué tan bien sea para una sala grande. Estoy satisfecho con la calidad de sonido, es excelente para escuchar música, ya quiero ver qué tal funciona con películas, cuando lo conecto con mi iPad por Bluetooth a veces noto un pequeño delay de mili segundos, no sé si sea mi imaginación, espero que no haya problemas al momento de ver películas con la TV, los mantendré informados.

Great little surround sound. Great buy for a small price but takes some experimenting to get it to work the way you want it.

Entrega mucho antes de lo previsto. Super barra, con un súper sonido, El precio es fantástico. Lo probé en una tienda bestbay, y comparé con otras barras, y esta me encantó. Ahí estaba en casi 5 mil pesos, y wow lo a vi aquí en Amazon en menos de 3 mil. Estoy fascinado.

Elegí esta barra ya que la relación de calidad precio es batante buena. Los sonidos agudos se escuchan claros y vivos, es muy facil realizar la instalación tanto por medio optico como para reproducir musica desde tu celular (NFC o Bluetooth) . La configuración del Subwoofer inalambrico es muy sencilla , sin embargo leyendo el manual dice que genera interferencia en el rango de Wifi , asi que si tienes muy cerca el bajo de tu router es probable que cause interferencia, Yo no sabia de este detalle , suspuse que Sony usaria un rango especifico diferente al de 2.4Ghz. Lo que no me acabo de convencer es el acabado de tela en el frente del SubWoofer honestamente prefiero el terminado en madera ya que es más robusto , este acabado en tela es dificil de notar en las fotografias. Si quieres un sonido decente , con agudos claros y tienes presupuesto limitado es la opción para ti.
