Don’t get any closer, otherwise you risk damaging the wood’s finish via overheating. Then, using a plastic scraper, carefully peel off the glue residue. Frankly, this can be onerous, requiring painstaking patience. Removal may require repeated heatings and gentle scrapings. Lightly clean the wood’s surface after the glue is removed.
