Instant classic
Shinsuke Yoshitake is our favorite new children’s book author, though it’s limiting to put him in that genre since the books are just as engaging, entertaining and thought provoking for adults as they are for little ones. He captures life in a way no one else I can think of. We bought all of his books within the span of a month and we read them constantly.

I truly recommend this book to anyone. I bought it as a gift for my friends who lost their loved ones. It sooth you when you think about people that you loose. There are lots of humorous parts all over this book.

Talk with your kids about what happens when we die
Excellent book that opens up healthy discussions about death with young children. Was read with a four and six year old who have great grandparents pass away already. End message was hopefull and brought peace to us.

Great book! I also love "It Might be an Apple" by Shinsuke Yoshitake. I recommend both for creative young readers! It might make the adult reader laugh a little, too, which is always nice.

A touching and deep reflection on death, for kids and grown ups!
When his grandfather dies a young boy finds a notebook left behind explaining Grandpa's plans for heaven: Who he will meet, what he will being, what he will do. If the book was just this it would still be a touching story that can help kids deal with death. But it goes farther, the boy wonders if his grandpa was really as fearless as he sounded. Did he write this for his grandson, or for himself. In the end the boy must come to terms with death and embrace living.A great read for people of any age with very cute illustrations.

Author knows how to talk to children- beautiful
I absolutely LOVE the illustrations here, and how the book is set out - it invites the reader to dip in and out, to take their time, to ride a wave of imagination and think deeply.I recommended this to a 9 year old pupil who had experienced a recent bereavement and she loved it, telling me it had really helped.
