June Gold 0.3 mm, 820 Lead Refills, 2B, 4 Dispensers/w 205 Pieces Each

Good product for a good price. Came with none of the leads broken (which I have had happen with other brands) Otherwise not much more to say. I will purchase these again when I run out.

Smooth nice great quality though not smudge resistant still great I appreciate that it is 2b I can get dark smooth and light lines with the same lead and the size is nice and the case and lead appear nicely and weight and material of the case ensures portability

Study up!!! Know what "you" expect, want, or need before you purchase! I see far too many unfair criticisms in reviews because folks haven't taken a little time to educate themselves on the product. You CANNOT rely on product descriptions alone to tell you all you need to know to make an educated decision. They are usually marketing-speak to lure you into buying. This goes for anything you are purchasing from anywhere, not just Amazon or pencil lead. Regarding pencil leads -- study and know your options. Search out some info on lead composition, hardness, and diameter sizes. Abundant sites offer credible help in understanding what's available, as well as hardness charts. My want and need was 2B 0.9mm mechanical pencil lead. The most common pencil lead is HB or #2. Those numbers/letters designate hardness and blackness. I like a blacker line. I studied. After sifting through many reviews, comments, and pencil-lover websites, I ordered two different brands to try: June Gold and Pentel's AIN. I like both. June Gold -- a nice, black line. Writes with minimal pressure, which I like. It does smudge a little, if I rub hard over it. This may be negatively or positively important to you; it isn't important either way to me. My #1 quest was the line blackness. Can't beat the June Gold price. The Pentel AIN 2B -- Also meets my needs of a darker, black line than the ubiquitous #2 or HB. It's not quite as dark as the June Gold, but I think Pentel's composition purpose was to make it 2B darkness without easy breakage. I might describe it as "more sophisticated" (however you interpret that) than the June Gold lead. I don't expect it will break as easily as I expect June Gold might. As I said, for my purposes, I like both. Do your homework.

Works well but doesn't seem as strong as past. My last set lasted from 1992 to 2025 before the final one broke. I have already broken 4 in a week with the new batch.

Man that’s a lot of lead, should last me quite a while. It came in a plastic foil pack of 5, with each individual pack having 60 leads. I will start with the plastic holder. If you have used mechanical pencils much, you know how difficult it can be to get a single lead out, usually the whole pack comes out in your hand or in the floor. With the June lead, the top slides over slightly and you can slide out one lead pretty easily, that I love. The lead is slightly softer and darker than the HB lead, it is 2b, and slightly darker than the stock HB lead that came with my pencil. I, for one, love the darker, bolder leads. If you erase very much you may want the HB instead. Pros: 1. The plastic tubes are awesome for individual lead retrieving. 2. It’s an awesome deal. This will last me years 3. Ok all...I'm leaving my review on this lead due to some other negative reviews I saw about it. Am I the only one that noticed that you have options for hardness? Most of the people I saw complaining about breakage purchased HB hardness lead. Due to this, I purchased the slightly softer, slightly darker 2B hardness graphite lead. So far, it's perfect. It's no more breakable than a normal piece of mechanical pencil lead, which will break no matter what, if you try, or push too hard. Although HB is about the same equivalent of a #2 pencil, these 2B leads seem to write about the same, even though they are supposed to be slightly softer. There are no problems erasing, either, as softer leads tend to be harder to erase. Also, the one reviewer who complained about the lead being *too flexible* -- didn't buy graphite lead! They bought Black colored pencil lead, which is different. You have to know what you're buying, and since there are several options to choose from, a bit of attention to detail and common sense and might be required here before clicking the Add to Cart button. But, as one reviewer also pointed out, at 300+ pieces, who cares if it's breakable or not... You'll have enough to survive the zombie apocalypse... And the dispenser is awesome!!

Nice to see competition for 0.3mm diameter leads. These leads will get the job done and for nearly 800 pieces, you can afford to have breakage for the price. It's more durable and more easier to find than the rare 0.2mm leads, but still give you fine lines like 0.2mm leads but not as strong leads or thicker lines at common 0.5mm variety. If you use mechanical pencils and find 0.5mm diameter think lead lines being too thick, dropping down to the 0.3mm will sure to be a refreshing change. Just don't press to hard on lead or advance it too much. With some of the more modern sliding sleeve pencils, the breakage is reduced, but if you want consistently thinner lines, try the 0.3mm variety. These should be durable enough and last a long time.

Never buy another carpenter pencil again almost impossible to break and never needs sharpening

even at 2B the lead is dark and steady.. I mean it doesn't break easily.. definitely better than "B" from "Micro". I was mistaken that as it is 0.3 it breaks easily..but after using June Gold I realised that "Micro" was not a great idea.. writes good breaks a lot. June Gold takes a while to deliver but worth the wait for sure.. remember it is a0.3mm hence it breaks but definitely much lesser than 'Micro" and you get so many leads for almost the same price..
