I upgraded to these waterproof outdoor sensors + alarm unit + I am happy I did. My last system did not survive 2 winter's rains. These are really well-made + they seal up nicely once u put the batteries in. You'll need a Phillips head screwdriver to install the batteries in the sensors. Sensors can angle up or down + left + right to suit your needs. They come with strips of "de-sensitizing" tape that u can place on top of the sensor area to reduce sensitivity to motion to reduce unwanted triggering. For instance, I have 1 facing a covered fence that people walk by but I only want the sensor to trigger when someone walks right in front of it so I put a strip of this tape on it. Now it only triggers close-by motion + doesn't pick up the far away motion. Avoid putting it behind branches + leaves that move around! Plug-in alarm unit simply plugs in + it pairs up instantly with the sensors without having to do anything. Nice + easy. Volume starts at medium out of the box + can be adjusted from there. Lots of alarm tones to pick from. Works great so far. Has withstood the rains thus far + triggers reliably. Has already paid off alerting me to an intruder on my patio! And with that, it has paid for itself as I live alone in the city. You just can't be too safe. Recommended!Water

Works as expected. Tons of options for chimes / alarms (almost too many), Sounds are loud but a bit shrill but they are noticeable, easy instructions, distance worked for me, came with batteries, has good visibility / detection without too many notifications, price was just right - looks fairly durable for all weathers.

These sensors do what they are supposed to do and do it quite well. There are about 4 sound settings so if it's far from your living room, etc. you can have it on "high" in order to hear best. They're great at letting you know that someone (Amazon truck?) is coming down your driveway. Only caveat is that if the power goes out they reset at the highest volume and you need to press the volume button three times to get it back down to "low". Also, during some times of year blowing tree branches and leaves trick it into thinking that a vehicle is passing by. I'm thinking about relocating that one sensor. [The occasional deer can set it off too - but what are ya gonna do?]

I purchased a different one before I got this one because I thought this one looked like it wouldn't hold up outside but it's great! So glad I decided to try it. It's sound emitter "ringer" that you plug in inside is smaller than I thought it would be but I love that too, it's so cute! It's barely noticeable and looks nice. It has a ton of chimes so that's fun if you're into that. I have had it for +/- a week or so now and maybe twice a bird has set it off but overall I'm so happy with the "no false alarms" and functionality of this thing. We use it in our driveway in the country. It worked right out of the box too and was easy to set up. You can add other "eyes" but it would be the same ring/sound so I thought that would just be confusing. It would be perfect for a porch or similar. I do have other areas I would like to have this so I plan on purchasing more so they will have different tones. I'm sorry I don't know the range. I have the "eye" on the driveway at the street of a normal size front yard and the "ringer" is in plugged in the entryway. Oh and you can plug in the "eye" and if that's an option for you. It comes with the batteries and the USB cable. (you will need a cube). It also has little sticky strips you can use to narrow the "eye" if you need that. Hope this helps. It's worth it. The first one I got cost more and just plain didn't work and was very difficult to set up. This is worth it.

Even on low setting, this device is sensitive enough to be triggered by birds or vegetation. When properly positioned, it reliably announces movement with user-selected tunes. It is designed to be water resistant but tucking it into a sheltered area might be wise. Batteries should be installed according to the markings on the battery compartment, not the user manual. The manufacturer responded quickly and politely to customer advice.

It worked fine from June 2025 until we moved in December 2025. It worked for about a month after we moved but then lost its mechanical mind. Works sometimes but not consistently. I won’t buy another of the same brand.

I have an old farmhouse close to a heavily used blacktop road with a fairly long driveway. In the summer it's pretty hard to distinguish passing traffic and the sound of someone pulling into the drive. My mailbox is up in the driveway, not at the road. it's actually a circle drive. Now I can hear when the mail is delivered instead of running out several times to check the mailbox which will be really nice this winter. Also it is so handy when having a garage sale. I don't have to sit in the garage or miss a car that drove away because I was busy doing something else. I live alone and have to tend to it myself which makes for a lot of running back and forth and in my 70's that can get tiring. This has a very long range and really like that I can position it more towards the West of the drive that faces a field than down the drive that faces the road and traffic. If you get heavy thunderstorms like we do, I would recommend wrapping a clear saran wrap around the sensor to protect it from a hard rain. Even though mine is under the over hang a hard rain with still reach it and the directions say to try and keep it from a blistering heat or constant rain to prolong the life. Just because it's water proof that may not be true under certain conditions or lifespan. I was pleasantly surprised to hear all the ringtones especially the nice selection of Christmas choices. I do unplug the inside unit at night because of the deer and critters setting it off in the wee hours. I find this unit to be very practical and useful, also it says batteries for the outside sensor not included but there were batteries in my package. When those get worn down I only use rechargeables so won't have to buy any. Good Product, worth every penny and several people who have heard it chime when another car drives in have purchased this same unit on Amazon..
