First of all the printer does have 6 monts on the box free HP ink & if you call hp to finish the setup part to connect to the internet, the agent will give the full 6 months on your hp account. If you do the entire set up as prompted, it wants you to choose from 1 or 2 types of print quantity and at higher price, I get 50prints a month for $4.99+ tax & this is my 10th year, cheaper than buying cartridges, also the cartridges that come with the machine are small and partially filled to get you maybe 30+ copies, just enough until you get your XL cartridges for hp ink in the mail. NOW...ABOUT THE PRINTER: This HP 7958e inkjet printer has met all of my expectations, but then I always buy HP and usually at Cost ---co. The main reason I buy HP is excellent quality photo prints that look like what's on my computer's screen before printing them out. The 7958e makes amazing photo quality prints with only 2 cartridges, one tri-color ink cartridge and a black ink cartridge. I also use the "best" setting for my photos and black & white printing. This printer is does fast prints too, I pressed "copy" on the LCD panel, and the first sheet was still being scanned as the printing already started to go!. Wow! And when using the document feeder, the printer didn't wait for the entire sheet to be thru feeding thru the document feeder and scanning before starting to print. I have purchased SEVERAL printers in the last 10 years, and they have worked very well until they didn't. This HP Printer on the other hand surprised me soon as I opened the box. Not only did I get HP Ink for 6 months that included paper; I also got a printing system that I absolutely love and will find life difficult to live without. I can send emails to my printer, and it will print the document, Baeby and I can print from our phones with ease, and I can print labels, business cards, recipe cards, photos and plenty of other things with this printer. I consider this to be the best printer I have ever purchased. Do yourself a favor and get an HP, the perfect home printer.

Updated Review 04.26.2026 I'm printing out instructions on how to use a baby formula mixer that was gifted to us. The instructions are eight pages. All eight pages print but the scaling is off, so the edges of the paragraphs are cut off. That's on me. I change the scaling options and print again. After two pages the printer stops and says that the firmware has halted printing because the ink cartridges are not HP cartridges. Well, okay. I pop out the cartridges and pop them back in. I print again and get 1/2 a page this time. Same error. Well, okay, again. I pop out the cartridges and pop them back in. This time I get all eight pages. Baby rates ths product -1/5 because it shouldn't take 30 minutes to print eight pages. I agree with baby. The HP printer didn't do this during the first year. I assume they've had some kind of update that makes it more aggressively push HP ink. This will be my last review update on this product, but it's going in the trash this month. I'm purchasing the cheapest Brother printer available because I expect it will easily out perform this printer. Dear HP, whenever possible, I will avoid HP products as aggressively as this printer gives me print halting errors for using non-oem ink cartridges. Thanks for the frustration. This printer has caused so much frustration that I've lost all faith in HP products altogether. Yes my experience has been that terrible. Original Review from (maybe) 2025: Why not one star? Because it works. Why not give stars? Because it sucks. We've had the printer for over year now and it's a constant battle to keep it functioning correctly. I only print about once a month and everytime I try to print after some days, an error pops up. Sometime it's a network error, sometimes it's a cartridge error, sometimes it's something else. Today, I'm leaving this review because the we got an error about not using HP cartridges, when we haven't changed cartridges in a few weeks. Why now? Who knows. To fix it, I just had to take out the cartridges and put them back in. Easy fix, but I'm always having to fix issues, and I'm tired of it. Conclusion: I'm not buying anymore HP printers. Disappointed! Would not print in color. Called support and they couldn’t figure it out either. They told us to go purchase another colored ink cartridge. What? It came with one and it wasn’t working. So they said they would send us one and we should receive it sometime in January!!??!! So we went out and brought one and our printer works fine now. So we received a colored wireless printer with the cartridge that didn’t work!!! This is bad!!! Thus the bad review! Also they have advertised “6months free ink” Ha! You have to sign up for a year supply of ordering ink online….! Terrible marketing plan on this one!!!

This printer is of a high quality and didn't break the bank. I have had it for almost a year now and have had no issues. Setup is easy.

This was purchased to replace the same printer purchased two years ago. I use it when color is needed and it does an excellent job for the price. As with all machines like this one, the "hidden" cost is the toner...the smaller cartridges do not last as long as a large color machine; however, for me and what I use it for, it is an excellent purchase.

Tenía mis dudas de comprarlo por el bajo precio. Pero este printer imprime, escanea y fotocopia. Ideal para mí. No tiene fax. No envío faxes. Pienso que por eso es el bajo precio. Pero llegó rápido, bien empacado. Fácil de conectar e instalar. HP Envy Ispire 7958e vale la pena. Siempre he comprado impresoras HP. Trabajan por unos 4 ó 5 años sin problemas. Lo único que señalo de todas ellas es que los rolitos de alimentar el papel se desgastan y empiezan a atascar el papel. Signo de que ya la impresora cumplió con su vida útil. Me gustaría que vendieran los remplazos de esos rolitos para que la impresora dé más tiempo de uso. En general, recomiendo esta impresora. Trajo dos cartuchos de tinta: negro y a color. Los cartuchos de tinta no son tan costosos como en otras impresoras HP. Da opción de suscribirte a recibir las tintas. Trajo su cable de conectar a corriente. No trajo el cable de conectar a la computadora, pero tiene el puerto. Se conecta también inalámbricamente. Ideal para imprimir fotos, porque tiene una sección en la bandeja para colocar el papel de imprimir fotos. El color de la impresora es neutral, es un ivory con beige. Tiene una pantalla interactiva en donde puedes darle los comandos. Está clasificada con ENERGY STAR, que economiza energía. Imprime por ambos lados si así lo necesitas; es cuestión de al momento de imprimir selecciones la opción de imprimir por ambos lados. Muy satisfecha con la impresora.

I've had this printer for almost a year now. It's pretty and aesthetically pleasing to look at, which you wouldn't normally say about a printer. It works fine for printing and scanning from the glass. Has some connection issues sometimes, but no more than any other printer. My main issue with this printer is the document feeder. Almost every time I use it, one of the papers gets jammed (no exaggeration). Even if I'm only scanning 2 or 3 pages at a time. And the arms on the document scanner are SO narrow. If a page is even a couple of millimeters wider than 8.5, it won't fit. I don't understand why they didn't allow for a little more wiggle room in how wide the arms will go. So if you're not going to use the document scanner much.. go for it. If you're going to be using it frequently, I wouldn't.

I would never buy this product again. Same issue as other comments I only used it a handful of times and everytime I print blank lines appear on paper. I tried many things to fix it and nothing has worked

Installment is easy as long as instructions are followed, great quality and works as expected. I have not use it for long but I want to see how long does the ink last but everything else is great. Worth the money.
