I go through a lot of sketchbooks with all my ideas and thoughts and trial and errors. This one is small enough to take to work but I can also lay it flat to sketch wider. This one is one of my favorites. It has smooth paper. Pencils and pens work nicely, if you have a rougher hand you might have some imprints in the next page. The paper ripples with water but not too much and it doesn't pill up at all. I sketch in acrylic and watercolor and tempura and ink in it as well. Markers definitely bleed through but don't bleed across if that makes sense. The binding seems pretty tough, it doesn't fall apart easily, but I also wouldn't provoke it. I don't use the labels it can with, but they seem ok. I use the pocket in the back to hold a few of my business cards in case someone wants to commission artwork and the cards haven't slipped out.

I have been buying these for my teenage daughter who is constantly sketching with pencils. She absolutely loves them and carries them with her everywhere. They stay in excellent condition even with the daily abuse of being crammed in her backpack, being dropped, and being open and in use all day, every day. The paper is nice and thick, and the binding stays secure. I highly recommend these books!

This is my daughter's absolute favorite sketchbook ever...maybe even her most prize possession. She always has it with her and is always drawing in it. She has about finished up her first one and is ready to move onto a new one. The cover is nice and the strap to keep it closed is awesome. The paper is much thicker than other books. She is even able to watercolor on the pages without them bleeding through to the next page. We will continue to buy new ones as fast as she fills them up!

Cover is very sturdy. The paper is thick like a card stock and works great with my ink illustrations. Haven't experienced bleed through or ghosting.

This sketchbook is “almost” perfect, but not quite, at least for my purposes. The paper is VERY smooth, which is great for Copic markers, pens, and pencils (unless you like your sketches to look a bit textured). It is NOT good for water-based markers like Tombow (it will make the paper pill like crazy) or watercolor (even a SLIGHT wash will buckle the paper and spread around in bad ways.)It’s very sturdy book. The paper is nice and thick, and Copic markers don’t usually bleed through to the next page (just the back of the one you’re drawing on) unless you press quite hard or color over the same spot several times. But the slick paper does make them look slightly patchy sometimes. It opens pretty flat on most pages and the binding doesn’t bread. I love the stretchy band that keeps it closed and the ribbon that marks your place.The only thing I really DON’T like is that the paper isn’t pure white. This makes my marker colors look “off”. The creamy paper is just fine for pen or pencil, though.Will I buy this again? Absolutely. Could it be improved? Perhaps. If the paper were whiter, it would be nice. But overall, I really like this sketchbook.

Good quality pages. I love the folder like flap in the back that lets me store small miscellaneous papers. And the strap makes me feel safe that my pages aren’t being creased while he book is floating in the abyss known as my back pack!

I like this sketchbook because the pages are thick enough I can use both pen and markers. I also like its compact enough it fits into my purse or bag. I can prop it on my lap. Good for when I'm outdoors sketching or writing ideas. Two Thumbs Way UP!

Pros: Pages are nice and thick, sturdy. Has small folder in the back cover.Cons: This notebook came with damages on the top (as pictured). Doesn't bother me too much, but it's annoying. The main reason why I am writing this review is to warn potential buyers: this notebook smells so freaking bad! It smells sour, like it was made or stored where something rotted. It's not even just on the cover, it smells on every page! I don't understand how it got like this. IT SMELLS SO BAD I don't even want to open it to sketch in. May return for this reason alone.
