Metapen Pencil A8 for iPad 2018-2026, (2X Faster Charge), Pixel Precision

Great pencil, works great with my 7th Gen iPad. Easy to use and doesn’t take long to charge, personally find it works better than a genuine Apple Pencil, cheaper for one! Worth the money and battery life is good. Would recommend.

I found this little Apple Pencil clone via an online review, which has proven very useful.As both of us have new iPads, I thought it would be good to try something new but as I've never had any form of electronic pencil before, I was wary of buying the new Apple Pencil Pro at £129. What if I just wasn't a pencil person, or had no artistic talent with a drawing programme?Now I'm not going to worry about the extra functionality the real Pencil Pro has and because I don't have an artistic streak I can't comment on how well it draws, or not. I also bought this because I thought it may double as a pointer for my wife, one whose pointy end won't fail after a few weeks of use (as her cheap, disposable ones do consistently).This may not be designed as a pointer but she finds it works very well with the 'point to paint' artwork she likes to complete. In fact, I haven't really had a look-in since I asked her to try it. She says it is much easier to be accurate with this pointer's end, which makes me happy. In fairness I must say when she's using it to tap-tap on iPad Air, it is noisier than a conventional fabric tipped pointer.I think it has a good weight in your hand and looks as if it will last a reasonable time (it has a spare pointy end). It charges quickly enough, the USB-C port is convenient and the 'tap-tap' action on the pencil-end to start using it and turn off works well. As does the auto-turn off after 5 minutes.From our use, I'd say it was fit for purpose and, at a fraction of the cost of the real Apple Pencil, warmly recommended. I may even buy one for myself!

I’ve been using the MetaPencil with my A16 iPad for about a month, mostly for note-taking, and I’m quite impressed. It feels light and premium, giving the sensation of a high-end stylus at a fraction of the cost of the Apple Pencil. For anyone who wants a reliable and stylish option without paying Apple’s price, this is a solid choice.The pencil works very well for everyday note-taking. It responds to pressure reasonably accurately and feels natural when writing or sketching quick diagrams. It isn’t as smooth as the Apple Pencil, and occasionally it can lag during intensive use, but for most tasks, it performs very satisfactorily.On the downside, the battery life isn’t outstanding, and the charging port doesn’t have a protective cover like the Apple Pencil does. These are minor inconveniences but worth keeping in mind if you plan to use it heavily or worry about wear and tear over time.Overall, I would recommend the MetaPencil for its value. It’s a great choice for students, casual note-takers, or anyone who wants a premium-feeling stylus without spending a lot. That said, if you write a lot or rely heavily on the Apple ecosystem, the Apple Pencil might be worth the extra investment since it’s smoother, more responsive, and better integrated with iPadOS.In short: excellent for the price, premium feel, solid performance, but the Apple Pencil still wins for heavy users.

Brilliant little device, I've purchased two of these, one for my daughter and for myself. Initially my own turned out to be faulty in that it would not hold a charge past a day, I did contact Metapen directly and the customer support was excellent, after the initial troubleshooting a free of charge replacement was dispatched via Amazon within 48 hours. To confirm the replacement and my daughters device have both held a charge without any issue. The enclosed instructions and Metapen website state that this device can hold a charge for up to a year in standby, which in itself is difficult to verify unless you wish to not use the device and attempt using it months later.Now for the details, this device is easy to use and although it does not have any level of pressure sensitivity as with the Apple pencil, for the low price I feel it is well worth it. The aluminum casing has a nice feel to it and charging is pretty fast via the USB C connector at the top. It does ship with a silicon protective cap for the USB C port which will help prevent nasties such as dirt, dust and moisture from damaging the connector. There was no requirement to perform any pairing, and to activate, you simply have to double tap the upper end of the pencil, the LED indicator will light up when activated and give you a rough idea of the charge status; White = Over 60%, Blue = Between 20-60% Red = less than 20% charge, this indicator will also 'breathe' Red when charging, and turn solid White in around 30 minutes which indicates a full charge.To conclude, I have had the 1st gen Apple pencil in the past , which failed due to not being charged up often enough!, but if you really don't need a few thousand levels of pressure sensitivity, this pencil will be perfect for you, and at a mere fraction of the price.

Excellent pencil for the iPad. Really good quality, feels just like an Apple one but for a much better price! Connects super easily via Bluetooth. Charges very quick and has a very long battery life which is ideal for students or anyone who makes lots of notes/drawings! Feels amazing to write with, and has a very good build quality too. I love the double tap of the top of the pencil to turn it on, feels very premium for the price!

My child was provided with an iPad by our local authority as part of the Scotland-wide roll-out. Noting there was space for a digital pen, I decided to buy this. I didn't know if it would be any good but it is! My child uses this daily, throughout the school day and it has really allowed them to easily do their work, much of which is now online. Without it, it would be a laborious task. Others have now purchased similar items after seeing this pen in action. Highly recommend. Does exactly what it is designed to do and charges quickly/holds it's charge well. Red light when charging then white light when charged. Hit the bottoms end of the pen twice to switch on and the same to switch off.

A lot cheaper than apple one , I have both and honestly can’t tell which is which when using them

I truly love this! For years, I’ve been using a microfibre tipped stylus, thinking that this type wouldn’t be ok for games (sudoku etc). What a revelation. It’s fantastic. It seems to last reasonably long before needing to recharge, it sits next to my iPad magnetically, it’s great. I’ve never even thought about an Apple Pencil, & won’t now, this is lovely, does everything I need it to.

I bought his pen back in March for my IPad (10th gen) and kept it for quite some months. I did not really use it that much until two months, but when I did, it had some problems. Every time it would work discretely but also either make ---- lines or not write anything at all. Every time I had to go back to the part and write the text again. I did not do much about it for a while.Last month I contacted the Costumer Service via the WhatsApp number they have on their website. I explained the problems the pen had and they were quite friendly. They gave me the option to either 1) get a full refund or 2) get a new pen, because it seemed that the tip was defective. I chose the latter, as I needed the pen at that point. They asked me to send my info for the new order through Amazon, and then they shipped it! I did not have to send the defective one back or pay additional money for the new one.It arrived after a couple of days. I have been using it since then (about a month). It works perfectly! I have no problem that I previously had with the written lines, and the battery lasts quite some time. As you might read in the description, it shows different colours for how charged it is, but it also shows a red light when it is being charged and when it is completely charged it turns white. The charge does not take long (about 30 minutes for a full one, but you can leave it charging for 10 minutes to use it for a couple of hours). I have not seen a decrease in performance for the past month and also for the battery.The package is not really high quality (at least font and colours wise), and the plastic where the pen is on is also quite cheap, but other than these things, the pen feels and looks high quality. I also really like the fact that you can choose many different colours. I personally chose the purple one.The little cover for the USB-C charging port is quite useless for me as it's too bulky for my IPad cover.

Très bonne surprise avec ce stylet acheté pour une utilisation quotidienne sur iPad. Après plusieurs utilisations, il fonctionne parfaitement et se montre à la fois précis, réactif et très agréable à utiliser.Pour mon usage, il s’intègre parfaitement à l’environnement Apple et remplit très bien son rôle, pour un prix nettement plus contenu que celui du produit proposé par la marque à la pomme. Le rapport qualité-prix est donc, à ce stade, excellent.La recharge par USB reste simple et pratique et ne constitue absolument pas un inconvénient à mes yeux.Mon retour d’expérience est donc pour le moment très positif. Il restera bien sûr à voir comment le stylet se comporte dans la durée, notamment en matière de fiabilité et de compatibilité avec les futures mises à jour d’Apple. Mais en l’état actuel, je suis pleinement satisfait de mon achat et je le recommande sans hésitation.
