Very good lead!
If you have a mechanical 0.5mm, this is an excellent lead for it.

Came with only one container
Came with only 1 container with 5 pieces of lead instead of the advertised 15 leads. They work fine with the pencils.

Cardboard tubes work really well (no broken graphite), but outer wrap is still plastic...
The graphite itself is good enough. The purpose of this purchase was to test out the viability of ecologically-sustainable cardboard tubes for transporting 2mm graphite. It works; none of the graphite sticks were broken. But then, the whole package is wrapped in plastic...why??? Just tape the tube to the cardboard backing instead.

No broken leads; versatile
They all fit very tightly into the tube, which helped insure none of them arrived broken. So far, of the six tubes I’ve bought, zero leads broke in transit. They do not arrive sharpened, so plan on having an appropriate sharpener or a sandpaper pad at hand. Both methods work perfectly with these. They make a clean line and they are mid range with smudging. They’re easy to smudge with a finger or stomp, but easy to keep from smudging by keeping a piece of paper under your hand. They can work either way.I especially like them for park drawings of trees and florals. It’s winter at the time of this writing and these days I use these leads to draw leafless trees. The size of the point makes for a great line to suggest the massive texture of the trees. It’s easy to get a blurred under layer, to lift highlights and to put in precise details. Working in the park in the cold, I don’t like to carry much with me so having one took food for so much is nice.I’m using the HB now and plan to see if they have 2B as well. I like these and will keep them as permanent part of my art supply kit.
