My buddy and I decided to start a podcast, because we're apparently not very smart. I would say our production is on a shoestring budget, but I'm not sure we can afford shoestrings right now.So, we needed a pair of microphones we could plug in to one device to record both of us at once, without need for an actual sound board or other specialty equipment, and we needed them to be cheap enough that if the project is just a silly little hobby that goes nowhere for us, I'm not out the investment of good mics.These are super reasonably priced, plug and play, and record at least at 'good enough' sound quality. We'll probably want to upgrade eventually if this idiocy takes off, but for now? These are great for us. They should also be good if, in the future, we want to like do live episodes at conventions or something and not carry a bunch of equipment.I'd say these are great if you're starting out on a budget, want portable mics, or want a pair of backup mics but don't want to spend a lot on them.

I've been looking for a lavarier mic for several months and could not decide which one to buy. Until I found Yellow Way microphones. I decided to buy the product because it can be used with a cellphone when doing interviews. When I used it the first time I could appreciate the quality of the recordings. I finished a voiceover for a video using this product and it sounds great. It is a good product and I'm happy because I made a good choice.

I'm learning a musical instrument and I make home-recorded videos of my lesson performances to upload so that my teacher can evaluate them. I wanted to upgrade the sound quality from the phone-camera videos that I had been making. I got the Interview Set because with two mics, I can have one at instrument level and one mounted higher for my voice. I tried the Interview Set with my Android phone (Alcatel OneTouch) and it didn't register sound (I think it's becasue the earbud jack in the phone works only for output, not mic input. But then I plugged the Interview Set into my Ipad -- and the mics worked great! My only complaint (reason for my 4-star review instead of 5) is that the cords are a bit too short for my needs. In order to get my face and my instrument into the video frame, I had to move the camera away and that meant I couldn't mount the mics as close to me as they needed to be. So I compromised by pushing both mics back toward the camera. However, that reduced the quality of the sound because I wasn't truly "on mic" at that distance. Even then, though, I got results superior to those of an Ipad built-in mic or phone mic alone. I also like the very sturdy carrying case that the Interview Set comes in, as well as the velcro ties to prevent tangled cords. I also expect to enjoy using the Interview Set as a way for my friend and I to both plug our earbuds into the Y-splitter so we can watch movies together on our laptop PC.

I opened them up and plugged 1 mic into my laptop, opened the camera and did a 5 sec video. Went to play back the video and there was no sound. Then I figured out you have to pull out the mic plug, then listen. So there's a lot of plug in & pull out if you are shooting a video and have many takes. Hope the cord lasts. The protective piece is already sliding up and down.Also, if you have a laptop that isn't whisper quiet, you will hear the fans in the background in your recordings. My laptop is older and the fan runs 24-7. If you are having sound issues, go to your laptop settings, click on System (sounds), scroll down and hit troubleshoot. It will take a minute. It will ask you if you heard "a beep sound", click no. It will do a diagnostic and ask you if you want them to make sure you have the most recent drivers, click yes. It will take a few seconds but the most current drivers will be installed (which is what you want). Then try recording again.After I updated these drivers, there was a difference in the computer noise I was hearing. It went from being really loud to being a very low hummm. I love that you don't have to worry about charging these mics! Good luck!

I’m impressed- these work great. They eliminated sound issues with YouTube videos. The case that come in is a game changer - It keeps it all organized, and each cord has a little rat that is Velcro. So the Velcro wraps stick to the side of the case, and nothing gets out of sorts. It’s almost worth the money just to have all my gear organized in such a small lightweight case

I tested the mics and they were good but I realized only one came with the shirt clip. Disappointing.

I am using it on an iMac desktop. The requirement could just be different for what I am using, therefore I suggest that you check if you need a separate plugin.The benefit of the separate purchase, that I really didnt mind because it was cheap and can be used for other things, is that you dont have to use the headphone port to use the mic, you can plug into a USB port.Aside from all that, the sound quality is great! What comes in the package is well worth the money. A second mic for a guest, or as a backup. The case is smooth and very nice. I am VERY happy for the purchase.

I hate these stupid microphones! I spent almost all my christmas money, and you know what I get? No difference in sound! I worked so hard to try and make these work and they just don't cooperate! This stupid yelloway brand threw me off with the way there trash looked! So done! No more youtube posts for me!
