This FV-0511VHL1 is the new and improved replacement for the older model which is no longer available. This unit can be used in new construction and is designed in such a way that it can be easily installed in existing construction, as well, even without attic access from above. The collapsible mounting bracket, the electrical connections and vent connection can all be done through the 10-7/8" X 16-5/8" ceiling opening, before sliding the unit into place. Unit measures 7-1/2" high so it will fit in a 2X8 ceiling joist cavity. Insulation can be placed in direct contact with the unit. Grill cover size is 13-1/4" X 18-1/4". Can be connected to 6" or 4" duct. Fan can be set to 50, 80, or 110 CFM. Requires a dedicated 20A circuit. Although Vent and Heater can be run at the same time, I like to wire mine so as to not allow that. I do that by running the feed first to the timer, then to the common of a three-way switch. That way the position of the three-way switch determines whether Heat, or Vent mode is used when starting the timer. Love the amount of heat put out by this unit! The perfect answer for a chilly bathroom! It seems like a night light is there a second option?** A: See the video to see the brightness of both lights. **Q: What happens when both the exhaust switch and heater switch are turned on at the same time? I would think the heat gets sucked up by the exhaust fan.** A: I am not sure why you would want to turn them on at the same time? The heat would indeed go right out. I use the heater to warm up the bathroom. Never had a moisture problem, but you could then turn the vent fan on after. Loved the Panasonic so much, bought one for our new house. It does take a dedicated 20 amp. circuit, just so you are aware of the wiring requirements! **Q: Can I use the fan separate from the heat, during the summer?** A: Yes. With 4 switches you can control all functions individually or together. However, a common 3 switch configuration is to have switch 1 control the fan and light together, switch 2 night light, switch 3 heater. **Q: Can this be mounted on the wall of my bathroom , or dose is have to be in the ceiling ?
