Sonic Impact iP22C Lucky Geisha Portable Speakers for iPods

I still have a couple of ancient iPod Classics, 160GB, internal hard drives with the click wheel, and 30 pin connector. These work great for moving around the house and garage, or take with you. Surprisingly decent sound quality and volume for small size. Be aware, even when using AC charger, any batteries you have installed are still slowly discharged and eventually will go dead, so keep spare batteries available even if you always keep it plugged. It will still operate if plugged in and no batteries installed, but iPod charges much slower or not at all. My wife listens to audiobooks all day around the house, doesn't like ear plugs. We also have music playing all the time in the background using Airplay and bluetooth speakers all around the house. This sonic is portable enough to carry around the house from room to room, and keep hands free so she can enjoy her audiobooks anywhere, while still having music in the background on the other audio system.

Used this only a short time but it has worked well on the few occasions I used it. A friend has an older models that we have used for many months. I saw this very cheap on amazon and decoded to give it a try. I could do without the artwork but can't complain about cost. The iOS devices pretty much suck for sound volume so that was my primary reason. To have on desk or garage and on the road. Don't always want to hook into home receivers. I used a 120g classic iPod with 30 pin connector and even in thick plastic case works fine. I used included cable for iphone test and it worked fine with a 5s. Very happy with it.Update: 12/5/13. Player have worked fine through many sets of batteries. I did notice a distorted loud sound when batteries were low, and initially thought the player was bad but fresh charged fixed it. So maybe that is normal not sure but no issues since. I bought an aftermarket cord to plug into side and the plug housing interfered with the metal ring surrounding the inputs. So I just cut a section of the ring with sheet metal snipes. No Prob now and with thinner plug it would Prob require no mods. I like using the player on a wire instead Of the dock. To clarify the metal ring is the border that is around the rubber plug on side Iof unit. The aux input hole was very close to the ring on mine. Very happy with player none the less.

This is absolutely brilliant. Good quality sound for size. solid case. looks good. Good size and also ok size to pack into overnight bag or case . uses AA batteries for portability or plugs into power. batteries last quite reasonable time, esp for sound quality. I use it for audio books so not able to comment on music.This is better than my old sonic impact speaker sets insofar as you can plug into side without using the part that yr ipod /iphone goes into which gets loose after a while (at least on my old ones it did)I have tried several sm portable speaker sets, of which this brand outshone all others and this model is just perfect.

What a great little item - the sound of my iPod on this is very very good! Would have to be a BOSE to get any better. (which I do have one, but this is so portable and fun. Great product & price!

After owning a sonic fusion speaker with awesome sound quality, I had hoped this could shine through with some characteristics of that system from the company. But it did not, yes it is lighter and a bit smaller but also much cheaper made, hence the price. Expected the sound to be less but biggest disappointment was that it does not have rechargeable batteries.

Still works great with my iPod. Fun for travel.

My mother bought these for my daughter's IPOD. They lasted over two years with pretty harsh teen abuse. When they started to make popping sounds, she asked that I buy another exactly the same. Daughter is happy once again, and used these speakers to blast music in the "snack shack" during her summer counselor job at camp.

These speakers have quality sound and pack tremendous volume. They can be used with an electrical outlet or with batteries and are great for traveling as they are protected by a hard outer shell. A bonus feature is that they are 110/220 voltage which can be used safely in most countries, without having to use a transformer.
