SYOAUTO Matte Black Rim Touch Up Paint, Car Wheel Scratch Repair Touch Up Paint Pen, Universal Color Rim Wheel Paint (Matte Black)

I'm not sure when it happened but I got a little curb rash on my 1 year old wheel covers. I sanded down the two scratches and used this paint. I'm very happy with the results. There are two rashes- one is at 10 o'clock and the other is at 5 o'clock. My 10 o'clock repair would look better if I sanded more- color is good but the texture difference gives things away when you get close to wheel. The 5 o'clock blemish is smoother, smaller, and much harder to detect. A good 10 foot away solution for sure.

Surprised at the great job this paint did on my 2025 VW Taos black wheel which was scuffed against a curb and had a three inch gash that really stood out. I have painted a few rims on other cars before - sanding filling in and smoothing, applying primer and spray painting - it’s a two day process. Since I was going on a trip the next day I decided to try this product to temporarily cover the ugly gash and I will go back in the spring to do a “professional” job. I just sanded a bit to remove the sharp ridge and applied a couple of coats directly to the wheel without using primer. I’m very surprised how smooth and glossy it worked out. I applied two coats within I few minutes of each other. You really have to go right up to the rim and search for where the repair was done. Take a look at the photo. Note that the concrete driveway is reflected on the rim.

Gloss black matched well to aftermarket black powder coated wheels. Paint isn't thin or running and applies well. Quick dry time and more than enough for a handful of scratches.

Does the touch up on my rims just perfect

We got this to touch up some aluminum silver colored wheels off a 2012 Mazda3. The factory aluminum wheels from 2010-2013 look like the same color. This touch up patient is an extremely close match both in color and metallic content. I would buy it again and recommend it if you have wheels this color!

If color match is good it is probably pretty good. The pen applicator works very well for tiny spots but the brush applicator does not easily lay down an even coat. My real issue is I ordered matte black, it is labeled matte black, but it dries to more of a semi gloss. Not a match for my application.

Used this on my tire rims where I had some curb rash. Matched perfectly with the gloss black finish on the wheels. I have to get down on my hands and knees and look very closely to even see where I touched up the rims.
