Strobotop Animator Expansion Pack

This is a fun thinking toy, especially for young children. It makes them think about what is going on. They can see the static images and that the light blinks - and when the image disks spin and the light blinks at the correct speed the images appear to move. You might tell them about persistence of vision, the phenomenon where the eye retains a sequence of still images and the brain links them together to make you think motion is occurring. I think these sorts of things get children to thinking, 'how does it do that?' Which leads to critical thinking and interest in science. This is a perfect STEM tool.

This is an extension of the Strobotop animator. More designs and several more 'Draw your own' cards. I bought this as a Christmas gift for two grandsons, ages 8 and 10. They had a lot of fun playing with it in the dark with only the Christmas tree lights on in the room. Fascinating to see. What more could I ask?!Nearly three months later, the younger of the two is still playing with it in his room at night before he goes to bed. He especially likes the 'Draw your own' cards.

My 5-year-old grandson loves this entire activity. This is also highly recommended for Asperger kids who are on the low side of Autism. It stimulates their interest. His favorite is the wheel with gears so far but the activity will grow with him. I see no age limits with this, and it's neat for ALL kids and adults alike.

This is exactly what I expected. My son is fascinated by this product. Excellent for children on the spectrum.

This toy works as promised. The problem is that the flashing light (strobe) it will give you a headache if you play with it for a while. Is it safe for children? I am not sure.
