I love this, it's a great idea for greedy pets. My dog-owning friend recommended it, and I'd never heard of Lickimats before. Our cat is completely obsessed with food and gulps down everything far too quickly - so the Casper mat is really useful for feeding him wet treats as it really slows him down. I read that licking is soothing for cats, and stimulates happy hormones, so anything that forces him to slow down his eating must be a good thing! For comparison, we timed him eating a tube of his favourite Lick E Lix treat; when served on a little dish as we previously would do, he wolfed it down in less than 60 seconds, but when served in the Lickimat for the first time he took 15 MINUTES to get every last morsel. Result! You'd need to press the wet food right into the grooves and ridges on the mat to get the most benefit; we use a little plastic knife, or you could use a wooden ice lolly stick. *WORD OF WARNING* As mentioned by a few other reviews, if your pet is exceptionally greedy / obsessed with food, you'll need to supervise them using the Lickimat. No doubt caused by the frustration of knowing there's a tiny bit of food stuck in a crevice that their tongue just can't quite reach, I can see why cats would bite and chew the mat! The material is soft and flexible so it's easy to gnaw on - see my last two photos, only a few seconds with my back turned and our hungry boy had already started to nibble the mat 🙄 I'd recommend this, for only a fiver it's worth the money, easy to clean and a nice size so it won't look too unsightly on your kitchen floor - but definitely don't leave it there too long otherwise bored cats will undoubtedly try and eat it!

I bought this as a second enrichment item for my cats after purchasing one in a pet store. It's really sturdy and easy to clean whilst being relatively compact, my cats enjoy the challenge it's provides them and we now use it as a part of their nightly routine to settle and calm down before we all go to bed. It's definitely made a difference in lowering their stress and anxiety levels, just wish I bought it sooner! It's fantastic value for money.

Updated review: After figuring out how to use this properly, it's a lot more effective than I first gave it credit for. It is still hard to clean, and my cat will not eat his usual meal off of it, but if he's going nuts and zooming at 11pm, then a tube of his cat treat spread over the bumpy part of this mat calms him down almost 100% of the time. The licking really does bring their energy down to a cuddly level. Original review: My cat really couldn't care less about this. I put his favourite liquid treat on it, and he still loses interest. It's not dishwasher safe, and surprisingly hard to clean. I'm sure other cats might like it, but mine just walks away from it. It looks cute, and the material is good, I just didn't get any use out of it.

Great mat, easy to use and clean and good value for money.

Just one of these in that well known UK pet store costs about £8 so these are much better value for money. Can be a bit tricky to clean all the food from the nooks and crannies, but I keep a cheap toothbrush handy for that. I tend to use them for creamy treats to stop my cat wolfing it down too quick, yet to use it for normal wet food.

Looks lovely but bit messy to clean.

I have 4 cats and 2 of them love to hurry up and eat their food then try to push the other cats away from their bowls and eat their food too. I purchased 1 set of 2 of these to see if I could help keep the 2 cats from rushing through their food and eating so much. I was nervous at first because all of my cats eat out of raised bowls but my cats love these feeding mats. I immediately saw a difference in their eating speed. It has helped them to slow down while eating and has stopped them running to the other cats' bowls to try to eat up their food. Now each cat has a chance to eat their own food. I recommend these mats if you have a cat that tries to eat up all the food from other cats. It has definitely improved their eating habits.

I absolutely love these lick mats. I got them for my first cat as a kitten for when he got neutered. Knowing he wouldn't be able to lick himself for a week but he could still get the sense of it with a treat or food and a lick mat. I then started using the mats with my new kitten who eats faster that my cat. I love that they are easy to use and easy to clean. In the summer, I'll mix a churu with some water, pour it into the lick mat and freeze it so my cats have a cool treat on a hot day. I highly recommend especially for indoor cat owners!

Mon chat aime beaucoup quand je lui mets sa pâtée sur ce tapis de léchage. Il prend tout son temps pour manger. Attention : ne fonctionne pas bien avec les pâtées avec morceaux (je prends d'autre pâtées pour ce tapis). Seul bémol qui fait que je ne mets pas 5 étoiles : lavage à la main obligatoire. Je conseille de laisser tremper directement après usage pour ne pas avoir de difficultés à retirer la pâtée qui reste dans les coins.

Ho un gatto esotico con il muso schiacciato da una portiera ed è faticoso trovare delle ciotole adatte. Questa era piatta e in gomma e speravo mi evitasse lo spargimento di croccantini per casa. L'ho comprata anche perché l'idea alla base è davvero interessante ma, il mio gatto non era dello stesso parere. Forse non ha apprezzato il materiale gommoso e a dire il vero neanche io perché non è lavabile in lavastoviglie. Peccato davvero perché avevo alte aspettative.
