After School HAM Radio Club
I have concluded AMAZON is a great place to buy all the components we need for our after-school HAM Radio Club. This is one of many components I've purchased so each student can assemble and tune up their DIY UHF/VHF antenna. Once they pass their TECHNICIAN exam, they are free to take their antenna along with the HAM radio our sponsors have purchased to recognized their achievement.

Outer braid is not tinned copper!
Pros: This cable has a nice diameter, and the internal construction looks to be good quality. Although I don't have any equipment to test the performance, it is working well for me on HF and VHF frequencies.Cons: Not a big problem if you're just crimping ends on but... the braid shielding is not tinned copper as advertised, it's not even copper coated aluminum, it is just straight aluminum. The braid will not accept lead solder at all, even using generous heat and flux. The solder just beads up and rolls off.I learned that the braid is aluminum when trying to solder it to a UHF bulkhead connector. The center conductor soldered just fine, but I will have to use a crimp connector for the shielding.
