I have to admit, when I first opened the brown packaging box, I was a little disappointed. It comes vacuum packed in a small package, weigh only 157g. After opening the packet to see what I'd bought, I still wasn't any happier, it looks like shredded paper, and not like real moss at all. As soon as I started to pull the block apart though, my opinion instantly changed. Inside, you start to get all these amazing textures. In fact, as I was to discover, it's actual, real moss. Looks like Java or Sphagnum moss. Most likely Java. I was far happier with my purchase at this point. However... The textures still seemed a bit flat. A result of the vacuum packing. Did you ever press flowers in a book whilst you were at school? It's like that. The textures are there, but it's almost 2-dimensional. And, I was a bit still a bit disappointed by the fact that if it's just real moss, I could have grabbed some from the garden, and in a couple of weeks it will probably turn yellow. At that point I decided to soak it in some water to see if it regains any of its natural shape. Lo and behold, I have actual moss, no imitation, not trying to look like moss, but actual, real moss. On top of this, the water I soaked it in turned green straight away. I'm guessing what the manufacturers have done here is dye the moss the green. Brilliant! No need to worry about it turning yellow. Comparing the stuff that I soaked to the dry stuff, it's far superior. All of the moss has sprung back to its natural shape. There's bound to be moss spores in the packet, so soaking it could bring the moss back to life. The downside of this is that left to dry out and without proper lighting it will die again. Given that I've ended up washing a load of the dye out, it's hard to say what the result of this will be. Overall, I'm really happy with this. You get real moss textures rather than something fake which is trying to look like moss. It's been dyed green (I'm guessing) so there shouldn't be need to worry too much about it going yellow. And so long as you only soak it very quickly, I doubt you need to worry too much about resuscitating it.

Easy to use , a little goes long way! Lovely living green moss ...excellent value and quality

Expands to a great volume & size, once put in water. Great texture & colour. But would advise to wear gloves as the dye stains hands & clothes. But overall, good price for a great product.

Really impressed with this moss- came in a pressed block but it fluffs out really well and was more than enough for two large plant pots. Looks good and smells lovely too - very foresty. Nice little hand written card from the supplier inside

This came in a small pack . I soak it and it expanded . It’s beautiful to use and allows me to make great displays with spring flowers and orchids . Far superior to other moss I have bought I will definitely buy again

I used this product to use over the top of a false tree planter. Opened it then left in a warm place over night. The shredded it in large pieces and laid it around the base of the trunk. Looks so effective better than putting soil around false tree...😜 Enjoy. Worth buying. It doesn't look much when you open it but you may only need one block as it was plenty. You can play around with it, and pull it apart and spread it out

Great value for money, there is so much packed into this small package, i bought this to cover the top of pots that i have artificial plants in and it works perfectly, I have used it on 3 plants and still have some left over. It has an authentic "moss" smell and is vibrant in colour.
