A wee little bit disappointed
I was so excited for this order to arrive and when it did I was immediately disappointed. I thought this was a larger book. It is basically the size of a child's coloring book, a small one. But I thought if it's packed with useful information that's okay. I tried to never judge a book by its cover. Upon inspecting the recipes I got excited until I started reading them and found them rather incomplete. There's a lot of assuming going on by the writer, leaving out pertinent details. I also purchased another similar book. I figured between the two I could figure out the recipes in this book. A lot of times the recipe asks you to add some fluid to mix your spices in but it never tells you what to do with that fluid thereafter, it's quite confusing and I'm just going to figure it out. I mean it's a book on dehydration so when you're asking me to add a cup of buttermilk I want to know what I'm doing with that. I'm told to pour it over the veggies and then to put the veggies in the dehydrator tray. Do I add the fluid do I discard the fluid? It never tells me. And that's not the only time I encountered this confusion. It's like the writer knew what was going on in his head but didn't completely put it on the paper to transfer that thought to the user. I thought about returning this book but it's just not worth the effort. I really wanted to love this book and I may come back and update my review after actually doing the recipes. But just reading a few of the recipes left me going well what do I do with this extra buttermilk, and do I add the rest of the fluid? Also in one part of the book it tells you to never make pork jerky and yet there is a recipe for pork jerky in the book??? In my opinion this instructional book really should have been more thought out. Some of us are brand new to this and need every single step. Assuming your reader knows what's going on in the writer's head without fully explaining the recipe's steps on the page is never good.

the how and why to dehydrate
This is a good look at what dehydrating can do for your food and what it can do for your food supply. The book looks at 6 different dehydration method (oven, sun, machine, etc), so you can pick the one that matches the food you want to make as well as how much time/,money/resources you want to devote to the process. There are great "how-tos" for the methods and they are easy to understand. THen we get into what foods work with dehydrating and which don't. Then we get into the recipes. There are 120 recipes provided, and they run a wide range. So, there is stuff like chips and bread crisps as well as herbs and spices. I especially liked the herbs and spices (which I did not know were dehydrated) as I can make what I want fresh and usually for less money too. I think this is a well done book.

Prepping with a dehydrator
I love foods that are dehydrated, for example, bananas, apples, jerky and many more. Buying out of the store is expensive, so doing it myself. The world nowadays is so unsettling and that's why we all need to prepare for any emergency. Dehydrating is one of the easiest ways to do that, because food will last for years if dehydrated. This book has a ton of nice recipes and safety tips to keeping your food safe to eat. This book discusses the foods to dehydrate so you can safely feed your family for years. You can use a dehydrator or an oven, but this book has all the information you need.

It’s a dehydrating book, not a really a preppers book.
This is my first book on dehydrating for prepping and I was excited to get started. When I received this yesterday I was somewhat let down. It’s a dehydrating book not really a preppers book. To me, the cover of the book is very misleading. While it does seem to have some great recipes, it’s lacking the dehydrator shelf stable meal recipes and important information that comes with prepping, which is what I was looking for. Also, the cover states 1200 day recipes…???? It has 120 recipes so I am confused what 1200 day recipes even means. Does this mean snack type foods because that is basically what the book has (chips, jerky, fruit leather) but it definitely does not have 1200 recipes. This would be a good book for those who are looking for dehydrator basics, snack type recipes not for those who are looking for shelf stable meal recipes.

Great information
I am just starting to dehydrate food items. My mom did this when I was a kid. I remember deer jerky, fruit leather, and apple and banana chips. I have already made deer jerky and it was delicious. I am looking forward to making other items in this book!

Dehydrate professionally
A great cookbook about dehydration, that clearly highlights the benefits of the process and shows both several dehydrating and rehydrating methods.I would say it is essential for preppers, who can learn how to store a wide range of food properly, but also useful to anyone. In fact, the food that can be prepared is tasty and healthy, because without additional chemicals, bacteria free and with lots of nutrients. To give some examples, it is possible to dehydrate bread, chips, vegetables, meat, herbs, side dishes, fruit and so on...There is a huge variety of recipes that can be either consumed in case of emergency or enjoyed at home.Honestly, I believe there is a lot to learn out of this cookbook, which is so complete and clear that it can get anyone to dehydrate professionally.
