UPDATED: (I smell it!!) I don’t smell the fishy smell everyone was talking about…
*** updated: WOW! Okay, so, it took a few weeks. I’m guessing as the product ages and has contact with air, that’s when the fish smell really hits. Now we can’t escape it. Everything smells, the closet it was stored in, my son’s bedding, our dryer, anything it touches. We had to discontinue use. I’m still keeping my review at 5 stars because the product does its job.. (and people need to see the shift that happens with use) but you have to be able to deal with the forever fish smell.. so it’s a trade off. We couldn’t hack it. It’s been over two weeks without it and I’m not sure the fish smell will ever go away on his blanket. Original review: I noticed some of the reviews were for other products so I wanted to note that this review is for the “ Nordic Naturals Children’s DHA Xtra, Berry Punch - 2 oz for Kids”. I almost did not purchase this product because people spoke of fishy tastes and smells and my son has high needs with autism and is very sensitive to foods with a very small food repertoire (which is why we need the fish oil). I just don’t smell it. And I don’t taste it either. To me, it tastes like pineapples. Right now we are at a .75 ml dose (we always start low and move up) and we give it to him mixed in a spoonful of applesauce. I always try his meds first (if supplements) and I was super nervous about gagging between the texture and anticipated taste.. and honestly, I thought it was good. So, I gave it to him and I could tell he was surprised by the texture change (compared to his other applesauce meds) but he licked the spoon after. He’s taken it without issue for 3 days now. I make sure I wipe his mouth after incase I’m just not smelling the fish… but even my husband said he can’t smell it. Personally, I have a very strong sense of smell. I get nauseated easily. So, I was very nervous about how this would all go.. but I don’t know.. maybe those with really smelly ones just got a bad batch? I can’t speak to any effects yet as far as mood/focus/speech etc. Our son is vocal non-verbal and uses and AAC device (age 11). That’s not why we started this supplement though.. we just felt like he wasn’t getting enough omega 3 with his limited diet. I only learned of these other possible outcomes when reading reviews. We use a total communication approach with him to help meet his wants and needs and aren’t looking for any miracles, we just want our boy to be healthy and omega 3 is so good for you! I’ll update if we see any mood changes etc., but I just wanted to put it out there that I’m just not smelling any fish.. at all. (If that changes I’ll update too!!)

High-quality omega-3 supplement for kids
This Nordic Naturals Children’s DHA Xtra supplement is a great option for supporting kids’ nutrition, especially if they don’t eat a lot of fish. Each serving provides a strong dose of omega-3 fatty acids, including DHA and EPA, which are known to support brain development, learning, and cognitive function in children. The liquid formula is easy to give and the berry punch flavor makes it much more pleasant than many other fish oil products. My child had no problem taking it, which is often the biggest challenge with supplements. I also like that the product is non-GMO and free from artificial colors or flavors, which gives extra peace of mind. Another advantage is the high concentration of omega-3s—about 880 mg per serving, including DHA and EPA, which support healthy brain, eye, and nervous system development. Overall, this is a well-made supplement from a trusted brand. It’s easy to use, tastes good for a fish oil product, and provides important nutrients that support children’s cognitive and immune health.

Good quality
I typically don’t write reviews but wanted to share how I get my 4yo to take this fish oil without a problem. I first want to mention that when my child was younger than 2yrs, like most kids, it was very hard to get her to take fish oil. I would mix it with food, but it was still hard to hide the taste. Now at 4, I decided to try it again with this product. I chose this product because I like the ingredients, have purchased this brand in the past and I’m satisfied with the quality. A few of the reviews mention how this has helped their child with developmental delays, though she doesn’t have delays, I was convinced that it would be beneficial to her too. She’s also a picky eater and felt supplements was the way to go. Well, the first day, she made sure to let me know “I don’t like that, it doesn’t taste good”, but I’ve been giving this fish oil to her for a few days now and she’s been able to take it without complaining. Don’t expect this to taste sweet or anything other than fish oil, it’s fish oil and that’s what it taste like. This one has a subtle fruity after taste but it doesn’t taste bad, it actually tastes fresh, better than other fish oils I’ve tried, which in my opinion makes it easier to swallow with no fishy aftertaste. I think the quality of this fish oil makes the difference in flavor. I mix this fish oil with the Child Life Liquid Multivitamin which has an orange mango flavor, she likes it and I think it mixes well. I’m not sure she realizes I mix it. I also store them in the fridge. My 4 yo doesn’t complain at all. I would recommend a good liquid multivitamin with a taste your child likes as a way to mix fish oil.

Better eye contacts
I bought this due to my 22 month old not making much eye contacts and speech delay / other development delays. It's been 1 week and a half since taking this. I will say she has made a lot of eye contacts, and she respond to her name. No words yet, I'm praying real hard that this will help her speech delay as a lot of the reviews had stated in their comments about their little one's. We're working harder on her other development milestones (which I take 100% blame for not taking the time to teach her at an early age since both my husband and I are work-a-holic, our biggest regret - I'm now more focused on her vs career). Will update on week 3. Fingers crossed that she'll say at least 1 word. She do babble but like every parent wishes is to hear their baby talk and be able to communicate especially when you see other kids/toddler their age doing so. UPDATE: week 2 - not sure if it's placebo effect or if it's the DHA fish oil but my 22 month old is way more focused and actually learned how to play with certain toys/objects/ work them as before, I can show her multiple times and it just wouldn't click to her. She also babbles a lot more using different sounds she never used so that's a good sign. Still no actual words BUT she would tell us what she wants and understands what we're saying now. Example, if we say, where's baby, or where's the dog or where's the bubble? She'll look over to it and make a sound as of she's trying to say "there". Which she's never done before using this. Like I said, maybe it's placebo effect or if this fish oil is really working. Will update on week 3. Week 3- no new progress... still haven't said actual words yet but is babbling more new sounds. Fingers crossed, she find her voice soon and start talking. Week 4- no new progress unfortunately. Will continue to give her this in hope for positive outcome like all the other parents. I feel like we're back to square 1 or we might just have an off week. Praying hard. Week 5- still no progress in her speech Era but I will say she's more tuned in on her surroundings. Will update on month 2. MONTH 2- we made it to 2 month of taking this. Eye contacts is still good, no other progress with speech. Will continue using this since it's important to have fish oil in your diet. Let's hope she starts talking soon as she ages. I know kids will develop on their own term so I'm not really concerned or try to over stress.

Excelente.
Na minha opinião o melhor Ômega 3, especialmente para gestantes e para crianças. Sou médico e recomendo a Nordic Naturals. Não temos acesso direto aos produtos no meu país, mas sempre compro nas viagens ou importo para assegurar o uso regular para os meus filhos.

Good for kids
This is very good for kids who's age is below 6 years . It is American based company which is recommended by dr. but this is too much costly.

Perfect Omega-3 supplement for kids
My kids love it, easy to add to yoghurt or smoothies and great that it's stronger so you don't need as much.
