Raw African Black Soap from Ghana, Pure and Organic (5 Bars)

I bought these monstrous blocks of Black Soap after reading other reviews. I am not disappointed, my husband loves the lather, our son uses it as both soap and shampoo. The scent is bland, but not off-putting. You do feel a little sticky when you rinse, no worse than any other name brand bar soap (we have used liquid soap for years until now), but this is not noticeable when you dry off and our skin feels soft and moist. Our son's dandruff resolved almost immediately and our dry, irritated skin improved instantly. My husband has allergies and very sensitive skin and this soap didn't cause even the slightest irritation. In fact, his skin cleared up completely. I would recommend this soap to anyone with skin sensitivities and the price for how much you get can't be beat. FYI, the soap looks like hardened mud when it arrives, but after you use it a couple of times it begins to take on this beautiful burl-wood look to it. We use a sharp knife to cut about a 1" thick piece to use and store the remainder in a cool, dark cabinet for later.

Great soap for everyday use

I found a bug crawling out of the soap while using it. It might have been a great soap but the whole bug inside was just enough to get rid of all it.

I do not like this soap. It's not like the other raw African black soap I've purchased before. It leaves my skin very dry and itchy despite it's very oily feel. The soaps composition is also weird. It arrived in a soft and sort of semi melted state. I'm disappointed because I purchased several bars in order to take advantage of the free shipping. I will probably end up tossing the soap as I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I used one bar and gave another to a friend. Neither of us liked the soap. Disappointed.

If you get a lot of cuts on your hands think twice before purchasing this soap. It stings very bad in open wounds. Also not good for hair unless you want dreads. Other than that, it cleans the skin well.

I was super excited to use this product once it arrived and actually see what the hype was all about. So I must say, I am real satisfied. It lathers up greatly and it doesn't have a weird smell and it does my body and especially my face wonders. I use it almost every night to wash my face and funny thing is once I shave, I wash my face with it as well. I am starting to have a little shine on my face. Next time, I will buy the bigger bag to have more for reserve because my wife who didn't know about it at first decide to go and take two more from the bag after I already gave her a few when I first got it. Only one thing that might seem bad is that with this soap you should buy some good lotion (preferably an unrefined Shea butter one) because it does make your skin dry but it is worth it. See what the hype is all about and get it.

This is first time I bought this brand and have used about three bars. There seems to be an inconsistency from bar to bar. Some bars remain hard until used up others are squishy. The soap itself is somewhat harsher than the dudu osun brand I have been using. Be careful around your eyes it will sting if you get in. Overall I am 0k with the purchase but I recommend to buty a small lot first unlike me who bought 2 large bags full. I use on my dog to bathe him also and it rinses out very easily.

This African soap is as pure as it can get. Packaging is great makes it easy for use, since you do not have to cut it. Each piece comes individually wrapped. This soap is great to use not only to baith, but it is great as an exfoliator since you can feel all the natural ingredients of the plant. It does dry your face and skin, but I see it as a positive. I see it as removing those dead skin cells. Great moisturizer or oil and you will be great..
