Simple activities you can pick up and try!
I used this book on teacher training and it was fantastic. It gave ideas and suggestions of how I could include differentiation in to everyday practise without focusing on the schools chosen criteria groups - most able, least able, boys etc. I felt that by using some of these activities it gave each student the opportunity to shine. I also noticed a direct positive correlation with the behaviour in my lessons.

Completely devoid of insight
I can’t believe I’m reading educational text books where so-called experts are still encouraging planning For VAK learning styles and using Bloom’s taxonomy. This book is packed full of the obvious, and lacks any actual insight.

Poor - no new ideas at all
I am quite disappointed with the book. The ideas are stale and obvious (I did not need to buy a book to tell me to use writing frames, layered questioning or open ended tasks). I was hoping for some innovative ideas on differentiation, all this appears to be is a rehash of the ideas National Strategies folder from the early 2000s. Absolutely nothing new in this book at all.
