Good product, well packaged, good delivery I bought this to try long pepper and it was a great learning experience. But long-pepper won't have a big place in my cooking. The taste is very interesting. The first note is allspice with a hint of clove, then a strong-ish black pepper note, and the finish has bright herbal/floral notes along the lines of winter savory. I like all of those flavors individually, but I don't often want them together. Allspice and clove are great in pumpkin pie - but blk pepper & savory have no place. I clove/allspice/bright-floral would (for my taste) drive any meat dish in a weird direction. Potato salad ? Cold pasta salad ? Maybe a meat/pub pie ? Maybe squash soup ?

I wrote another review about another long pepper package and I would say that my other review matches this one in that both products of long pepper coming from Amazon here turned out pretty good. Pretty darn good. I think this pepper is even better when you grind some up in a blender and then add the more finely ground up pepper into a pepper shaker, as opposed to grinding it with a pepper grinder because, unless you add it to soup, a pepper grinder will leave little specks that are hard to chew. In a soup however, they soften up and give the soup a whole lot of flavor, so be careful. I totally endorsed this taste. It's even better for you than regular pepper, from what I hear.

A very special kind of Black Pepper that is high in polyphenols. It needs to be freshly grated or whirled in a spice grinder. Great flavor at a reasonable price. Repeat customer.

This long black pepper is absolutely amazing! At first, I tried using it in a manual grinder, but because of its unique shape, it didn’t work well. Once I switched to an electric grinder, it turned into a fine, fragrant powder—and wow, the flavor is fantastic. It’s a bit spicier than regular black pepper, but in the best possible way. It’s aromatic, bold, and adds a delicious touch to every dish. I seriously use it on everything now. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their spice game.

Long pepper has much higher levels of pepperine that regular black pepper. Also this is spicy like a hot pepper. I mix black and long pepper half and half and love the taste! The corns are VERY hard, so you need a way to grind them, as a regular pepper grinder won't do. Mortar & pestle, or electric spice grinder works for me.

Best as a black pepper substitute, less spicy, less harmful for stomach and the strongest natural anti-viral effect. I always use it during winter and spring putting a little amount in my everyday food together with turmeric. Never get sick with viruses. Just make sure you grind it very well because it is very hard. I do grind it with my coffee grinder before consuming as usual salt grinder doesn't work. Be careful because it is really, really hard! And chewing it can cause teeth damage.

Arrived sooner than expected. Great flavor to dishes. It adds a layered complexity to dishes.

Who knows why I was on the internet looking for long pepper but here it is. I am very impressed with this pepper. I don't think I'll ever go back to traditional over the counter at the grocery store pepper. The pepper is warm, spicy and fruity. Of course it's Amazon so it arrived very quickly. Packaging was great. If you purchase this product you will never purchase pepper from the grocery store again.

I do not know about the flavour because the long little peppers do not work in my grinder. It only takes the small round peppers.
