They are extremely durable....thus the high price. You won't have to buy many in a lifetime. I am 70 and I think I have been through 2, maybe 3. **Q: I need a certain size of mat. Will I be able to cut the mat to resize it?** A: This is one of the few floor mat items we carry that are difficult to manipulate in the field. These mats are constructed of rubber links strung together with metal rods and, in order to modify the mat size, not only would cutting the rubber be a bit cumbersome, but cutting/adjusting the metal rods could be quite cumbersome at best. If a custom size is needed we're happy to provide a price to produce the desired size (lead time is about 7 working days). They are almost indestructible and work really well for wiping your shoes before going in the house. I also remember one in from of the door of our rural church and our rural school.
