There's a trade-off for convenience.
I used the LUMU Power for a few dozen photo shoots and one video shoot before returning it.The software for iOS was easy to install and use and is very comprehensive. I used it to measure ambient light, color temperature and lighting for dSLR video. While it is very handy and simple to get light readings, I had trouble with its accuracy. I found it to overexpose by 1/3 - 2/3 of a stop. The color temperature readings were in the ballpark, but never spot on. The green / magenta shift was also unusually inaccurate. It was easier to use my X-Rite Color Checker and the White Balance dropper in post-production to get a neutral starting point for color balance and correction. It certainly is convenient and has potential. I will still rely on my Sekonic light and color meters for 100% accuracy.

Great Product
A bit pricey, but it does a great job of helping me dial in the correct exposure for flash photography. My only wish (and perhaps this is a wish for iOS versus Lumalabs's software) is that you could specify that your iPhone "remember" your choice to trust and allow the device to access your iPhone's Lightning port. The typography and design of the app are nice. I'm so happy that Lumulabs didn't resort to using the dorky LCD font that says, "I'm an LCD display" (looking at you, auto manufacturers).

Best Camera Investment
Very easy to use. The app is well made - easy to navigate and intuitive- I was able to figure out how to use it right away without reading the manual (which is readily available to download online). Settings are spot on - it takes out all the guesswork. Saves me a lot of time since I don’t have to do any post processing. This is the single best camera accessory I have purchased - Makes shooting manual such a joy. I also like that it is very portable and requires no battery-I will have it in my camera bag all the time. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

Not worth buying. I purchased it in July 2018.
This was a total waste of money. It by no means replace a color meter or light meter. Bright light works almost flawless, but in low light or in the f1.8 or f1.4 aperature’s it is useless. I purchased primes for a reason. It is not good. It’s better to spend the extra $1,000 to get a dependable accurate meter. Purchased July 2018 and used in studio and churches. I used it on iPad Pro, iPhone, and iPod and the results were all the same. I have 42 years of using light meters such as Gossen and Minolta. I won’t make another $300 mistake of this type. I really wanted it to work.

Lacking in Documentation and didn't work as described.
Bought this because of all the features and had the ability to do HSS. First you should know that there is absolutely no documentation in the box. Everything is found online, and what is online is not all that detailed. I updated the firmware twice during the few weeks I had it (basically whenever I was prompted to) but the reading never made sense. I finally broke down and also got a Sekonic 308 and tested them side by side. The sekonic gave me consistent readings that enabled to give me a good exposure using studio strobes, but the lumu was just all over the place with settings that didn't make sense. I don't know if mine was defective, but I decided it was best to just go with a proven brand and something that was working. Kept the Sekonic and sadly returned the Lumu.

Not color accurate.
Finding that the color temperatures really don't match all that well. The exposure readouts are pretty darn good. If you look online at other reviews you'll notice the same reports.

Seriously best gear purchase in years
This device is 1. Easy to use. 2. Accurate. Just used it on a film shoot and it's so fast and easy to add to your process. It's been accurate as all hell too. It's already become a "how did I live without this before?" type of device.Lumu - your team rocks.

Four Stars
Its a great concept but the one flaw is that it will not work color temperature from strobe.
