Pockets, pockets, pockets!
After doing a LOT of digging and trying to find a good replacement for my Timbuk 2 backpack, I finally came upon this one. I am glad this is the updated version since I saw a four-year-old review on YouTube for the first version and it didn't have a pass-through band for going over the luggage handle. First thing you'll notice is the number of pockets and pockets within pockets this backpack has. I am not a photographer but I can appreciate these pockets and I am sure I can use them for something. I primarily wanted a backpack that looks a bit different than the seemingly millions of black-colored backpacks (I chose the yuma tan version), something I can easily travel with, and one that can be used as a personal item (i.e. slides under the plane seat). I can't exactly explain it, but when placed on my back, it sort of sits higher than a typical backpack, which is nice since it feels like a "cape" of some sort, which makes carrying the backpack more comfortable than my Timbuk 2 one. I love that it can fit my 24 oz. Stanley in the water bottle pocket, which can also be zipped up when not in use. Inside the main compartment, there is a divider that can be set with Velcro where the bottom half can be accessed either by unzipping the whole laptop area OR through the side, quick-access pocket. I like this sort of separation since 1) the flap actually sort of keeps the overall shape of the backpack better, and 2) it's good for separating a pair of shoes or a toiletry bag from the top half, which can be used for clothes. I haven't fully used the bag yet since I've only received this a day ago, but from what I can tell so far, it'll be put to good use. One thing to note is that if you like to always keep your items in pristine condition, this backpack might NOT be for you since the front panel is made of some sort of tarpaulin material, which—when scratched—will be permanent. I guess that can add some "character" to the backpack, though! The back area can easily hold my 14" MacBook Pro and my iPad Mini. My wires and 30W charging block are packed in pretty tightly in the small pockets in this area, but I guess they're more for photography items rather than a bunch of wires! It still did the job, though. Lastly, the handles on the top have small magnets in there, which adds a nice touch to how the backpack looks when standing up. It's the little things! There are plenty of review videos that do a better job at reviewing this backpack but if you want a nicely sized, travel backpack for maybe one- or two-day trips, this will do the job. Plus, it has nice aesthetics that are different than most of the bags you will see out there if that's your thing!

Promesses tenues

Best Travel Backpack Ever!!
Love the Wandrd backup with the camera bundle. It not only securely stores my OM5 camera but the adjustable Velcro cubes allow me to create areas for batteries, powder chargers, etc. One of the best features is the top area which can be unrolled/expanded to store medications, snacks, etc. In addition the padding the backpack has alleviated any back pain which I experienced with my Osprey backpack.
