Ideal for underpainting, fabric arts, and mixed media, these sticks blend effortlessly and work with traditional oil paints and mediums, empowering artists to create vibrant, lasting works anywhere. ## Description When you're ready to start your next oil painting, pick up Shiva pianistic artist colors instead of a brush. Manufactured in the united states, paintstiks are ideal for sketching and outlining, Shiva pianistic artist colors are refined linseed oil blended with a quality pigment and solidified into a convenient stick form. Paintstiks can be spread or blended and used in conjunction with conventional oil paint. There are no unpleasant odors or fumes, so you can virtually paint anywhere, at any time, on almost any surface from paper to panel to fabric. Paintstiks are "self-sealing". That is, they form a protective film so the color won't rub off or dry out. Yet they always stay moist and fresh, providing an indefinite shelf life because they reseal in 24 hours. This film is easily removed by peeling it away with a paper towel, or rubbing it off gently. It can also be removed by carefully paring it with a knife (it can be sharpened to a point in this matter). When the stick has begun to wear to the edge of the sleeve, simply loosen the sleeve from the oil stick at the seam, open the sleeve and push the stick forward. Press the sleeve around the oil stick again and repeat the peeling process as needed. Remember that Shiva pianistic artist colors are oil color, the same as tube oils, so all the same techniques, mediums and surfaces can be used including varnishes. Paintstiks are available in 55 professional colors, 22 iridescent and 12 student colors. Review: Amazing paint sticks for fabric! - They are amazing! It was worth purchasing them for fabrics. I just got done staining one of my art projects oil paint/linseed. Would this stick?** A: That's a good question. They are oil based 'sticks' I am guessing that the iridescent is mica added for the shine. I'd say try it on a little project a small wooden box, or the like. I've just use them on fabric. They leave a soft hand to the fabric which acrylic can't seem to do. You do have a drying period, but I think a day or two would be fine before you seal your wood. **Q: Are these the full sticks or the mini sticks?** A: I don't know how big full sticks are. These are 4 3/4" long and 3/4" diameter. I use them on gourds. They are easy to use and last a long time. **Q: What are the colors in the irridescent 12 pack?** A: Its like a pearl, light gold, shimmering orange, red, pink, reen, blue, lavander, brown, dark grey and dark gold. Don't know what else is missing. The colours are slightly pearl-ish. **Q: I just went to a class using these on fabric. Is there a way to store so they don't dry out quickly? Seems really wasteful.** A: No, Not that I have found. I have to chip they a bit to get the color to come to the fore. Butit does show that they dry for paintings and other uses. Oil pastels don't ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing paint sticks for fabric! *by E***A on April 13, 2020* They are amazing! It was worth purchasing them for fabrics. I can choose the intensiveness, so that obtain huge variety of colours, and even painting with my finger gave good results. The delivery was fast. Highly recommend this item and the store! Thank you! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ pigment is deep and saturated *by T***K on January 6, 2022* I love Shiva sticks. They are messy and wonderful and blend and I can keep adding color and shading, etc. I use them on fabric. any fabric works but it must be heat set whether you wash it or not. Best for not washing, just adding beautiful color. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oil paints in stick form *by S***S on January 7, 2017* I learned how to use Shiva Paintstiks in an art class. We only spent a short time as an introduction to how they can be used. I was immediately impressed and knew that I would buy them for future artwork. I am a quilter and only work with 100% cotton fabric. I have gotten away from traditional patterns and started working on art quilts, but still those that can be made with paints and materials that can be washed and dried, sewn and used as quilts, or embellished as art pieces. I am still experimenting with these on my fabric. They work great with household items like dishmats and doilies to given patterns on the fabric. For people who are less innovative or creative the Rubbing Plates Set is perfect for using these oil paint sticks to create patterns on the fabric, wood, canvas or anything that you would use oil paints on. The difference for me is that once the fabric is left to dry for 24 hours, it is considered 'cured'. After that, the designs are permanent and can go into a washer and hung to dry, be ironed with a piece of deli paper or fabric over them and can contribute beautifully towards a quilt. ## Frequently Bought Together - Jack Richeson Shiva Oil Paint Stick, Iridescent Colors, Set of 12 - Sennelier Oil Bar Set of 6 x 38ml Sticks - Jack Richeson Shiva Oil Paintstik, Traditional Colors, Set of 6 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/4733457-jack-richeson-shiva-oil-paint-stick-iridescent-colors-set-12](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/4733457-jack-richeson-shiva-oil-paint-stick-iridescent-colors-set-12) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
