Alright, so I ordered this since Anbesol and Kank-A weren't working for more than 20 minutes tops. HurriCane isn't as intensely numbing as those two brands, but the numbing does last a lot longer. 90 minutes into my first application and there was still no intense tooth pain. Applying Anbesol first for instant relief and then adding Hurricane a few minutes later for longer-lasting relief really helped my tooth pain. I have really bad teeth tbh so this has been a lifesaver! You don't need a lot of it either. Just lightly dip your finger on it, don't push in hard or anything, then apply it straight to the gums and teeth that hurt. You'll need less than you'll think you'll need.The texture is similar to Vaseline. The taste isn't the best, but not terrible. You know the artificial cherry flavor and how that tastes medicated? That's what this tastes like but with watermelon. Definitely better than cherry in my opinion. Could be a great option for kids. Life most oral numbing protects you're doing to develop some salvia from it.Rating it 4 out of 5 stars. If you have a mild toothache it will probably be great for that! But for intense toothaches, you'll need to combine it with something like Anbesol that gives you instant relief then apply this for continued relief. That's just my experience with it though. It may work differently for you.

My wife has a sneaky cavity that started in between two teeth and hollowed one of them out nearly completely before causing more than a dull ache. Then, almost overnight, all hell broke loose and she was in absolute agony. Eugenol (clove oil) doesn't agree with her at all, but we needed something quick, so I picked this up expecting something similar to oragel in terms of performance - ie to make it bearable as long as you reapply it often.I myself have multiple teeth in states of severe decay, with exposed nerves, because I had some pretty bad experiences with dentists when I was younger and I have a fairly high pain tolerance. Up until recently, I used eugenol myself to help with these, but I heard you shouldn't use eugenol near exposed nerves, it hasn't been helping all that much at this stage anyways, and frankly eugenol is unpleasant enough to use that I just couldn't stand doing so as frequently, so since we'd ordered this stuff for my wife already, I decided to try it.For both of us, this stuff worked amazingly well.* It's got a surprisingly pleasant taste, similar to the artificial flavoring they use in candy. No "medicine-y" taste that I noticed.* the consistency is somewhere between gel and softened wax. It melts away when it touches saliva, but holds long enough to largely get it where you need relief without numbing half of your face like other less viscous products.* The relief is immediate, and long lasting. I decided to write this review after accidentally biting down on a piece of food with one of my bad teeth and using a tiny bit of Huricaine to go from "eye watering pain" to perfectly fine instantly. It's been half an hour, and the pain hasn't come back. Amazing!* A jar of this stuff lasts longer than I expected. We've had this jar for about two months, and depsite frequent use still have tons left. It's just the right size to fit in the medicine cabinet, too.Side note: I picked up a set of dental tools here on Amazon that included a dental spade meant for levelling fillings. I use that tool to scoop out a small bit of Hurricaine to avoid contaminating the bottle itself with a finger or get cotton fibers in it from swabs. This stuff sticks to the tool very well, making it easy and almost completely mess free to apply.

My wife and I were skeptical and figured it would be another Orajel but I assure you it isn't. This is the best otc oral pain reliever that I've used. With that and ibuprofen it is Great!!!I recommend it 100%

I bought this when my children were teething more than 20 years ago and it worked amazing! When my grandson was teething, I bought it again; again, it worked amazing. My son and daughter-in-law tried to go with a cheaper option at their house but finally realized it was worth the little bit extra money to get something that actually worked. I HIGHLY recommend it!
