I purchased due to price. I have this shelf, the 4U rack and a patch panel, all from same company. Happy with the fit and quality for this price point. The shelf works as intended and holds up my router. Matches my rack and comes with screws needed to mount. Feels sturdy and vent holes are a nice add to help keep equipment cool. I will likely add a small switch to shelf next. The only thing I found confusing is the description for the product. In the pictures and verbiage, it shows multiple options, with and without a lip. I originally assumed it had flexibility in install options but after looking at the multiple listings realized that the lip and no lip options were different products, so do make sure you order the correct option.

I was considering using old obsolete rack mount equipment as a shelf in my new server rack when I found this shelf on Amazon. It's not the greatest shelf in the world, but it's only $20 or so. Assembly was simple, it even included the wrench needed to tighten the nuts. Also included cage nuts and matching machine screws to mount it in the rack. I rated 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons. One, the package arrived open. Fortunately nothing was missing, but I think it would have been better if it had been shipped in a larger box. Two, the shelf was slightly bent. It didn't effect the installation, but again if the product box had been enclosed in an Amazon box I don't think it would have gotten bent. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you need to mount a couple of tower PCs in a rack, but it works great for a few external HDDs.

Great shelves for your rack. I recommend installing them with the loadbearing configuration whether it's for heavy stuff or not, as the cantilever configuration actually seems to be the best option either way. I tried it installed normally and it just seemed to sag either way. These are great rack shelves. I have an Amcrest NV4108E NVR on one of them, installed with the lip on the underside so it won't put stress on the ethernet cables/RJ45 ports by getting hung up, and it holds it with no saggage. I have a couple of desktop switches sitting on the other shelf, as I purchased two of these and I'm glad I did. Well made shelves for my purposes, and I highly recommend them.
