Mercy: The Complete Series

... series just for Taylor Schilling and I am so glad that I did
I have to be honest I bought this series just for Taylor Schilling and I am so glad that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed watching each episode. Taylor does a great job in this role and portrays a strong character. Usually when I watch shows and movies just for an actor or actress I focus on them and think of them as the actor playing a role. But while watching this show I forgot that I was watching Taylor and I felt that I was watching Veronica. Taylor truly did a fantastic job in this role. This show has heartfelt, tear jerking scenes, but it balances well with the comedy that the whole cast brings to the table. Veronica has some absolutely great one liners. My favorite is from the episode I Saw This Pig and I Thought of You. βI donβt mean to stir the pot but Landypants was a little judgmental about my pig.β When I heard that I could not stop laughing, Taylor delivers every line well, comedic and dramatic. Another fun facts is that in one scene you can see Veronica (Taylor) flipping through a chart in a close up of her and you can see scribbles on the chart, I thought it was funny that you can see the castβs scribbles on the props. This is in the same episode I Saw This Pig and I Thought of You (Episode 10) itsβ at 23 minutes and 45 seconds.I thought the series was great but it desired at least a second season or a proper ending. It does end with major cliffhangers that probably will never be concluded which is really sad. The Veronica story lines were probably the best, in my opinion, and I wish I could have seen more of it.

One of the Best TV Series You Never Watched
There's only one truncated season for this series that revolves around 3 nurses at a Newark, New Jersey hospital, and their lives outside work.I'm sure that this series got trumped by Grey's Anatomy when it debuted in the early 2010s. I know that at the time I thought, "Why would I want to see a show about women nurses when I could watch a show about women doctors?" Take my advice. Make room for Mercy.

Superb cast and exceptional star make "Mercy" come alive
I've watched the entire Mercy series as part of appreciating the filmography of Taylor Schilling, the actress who carried this program. I continue to admire her body of work - "Mercy" is an early display of her talent - she was only 25 when it was made. She captures perfectly the intense, tormented young nurse who's the protagonist for much of the action. She carries herself with confidence, and her facial impressions, while often tense and severe, provide a preview of the accomplished actor she's become in later work, such as "Orange is the New Black" - she's able to shift from victim to heroine to frustrating lover with credible fluidity. It's a shame this series was not continued; it addressed important problems in our society: spousal abuse. alcoholism, random violence, dementia, and PTSD, among other issues. The supporting cast is strong, as well, including Margo Martindale and Kate Mulgrew. If I were NBC, or any other network, I'd re-look at this series and revive it - with the original cast. As it is, this series is worth watching many times!

GREAT SERIES
We didn't watch this when it was on TV - in fact we'd never heard of it or of any of the actors - BUT - absolutely loved the series. It's just too bad it only lasted one season. The three nurses are well played and each of their roles is well developed. I felt the I knew them all by the end of the series. I have to be honest - the only reason I bought it was that it was inexpensive and it seemed like it might be something we would enjoy. We were not disappointed - loved it.

Why?
I just finished this series tonight. I think it is one of the best medical dramas that I have seen and I have loved them all as Er, Grays Anatomy, House and I could go on. The three I mentioned I have all the seasons except season 15 of ER. I am SO disappointed that this show was pulled and I can't help but wonder what the real reason was? Did it get to close to current politics?Well speculation won't bring this show back, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it highly to anyone and still think it is a real shame that shows like these get pulled when they have so much potential.Thank you!

Brilliant.
I've Been Into Hospital Drama's Since I Was Nine When St. Elsewhere Started Off. Then ER, Then Grey's Anatomy Now It's Mercy. I Have The Others On DVD So Mercy Will Be The Taking It's Place Among The Best Of The Best. I Will Be Keeping My Eye Out For More Intriguing Hospital Drama.

Great show. Starting watching it online as it doesn't air in the UK. Shame it didn't get picked up for a second series.

Mercy Hospital sketches
Looks to me more like like how "the odds" and medicine's effectiveness really work out to be. The good guy doesn't always come through, nor are medical practitioners always right. This might bum some out?

mercy, mercy,me
This series was silly and way to emotionally foolish for me.I regret buying it.I thought the lead character need therapy and prozac from the get go.I watched three episodes and then threw it out.Others may love the drama. It wasn't for me.
