A simple and affordable way to keep your trailer secure when it's not in use. This heavy-duty adjustable coupler lock fits most 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" trailer couplers and provides added peace of mind against theft.

Keeps honest people honest. This isn't a flawless solution by any means, a determined thief will find a way in, but the hardened top bar and solidly cast ball and lock housing will likely deter the casual miscreant from dragging your trailer off. The high visibility color makes it easy to spot so hopefully encourage the curious to keep moving to a softer target. I already have camera coverage on my driveway so I just need something to slow an attacker down, and this works perfectly for that. The lock is simple to use and doesn't bind up, and the design ensures the trailer tongue remains inaccessible to those not authorized for access. Definitely gives me confidence that when I get home, my boat trailer will still be there.

I have two of these. Both work great. I mainly use them in our driveway and at motels during fishing tournaments. They are effective in the fact that it takes a few minutes to break one in order to steal a trailer. It's also noisy trying to break one so it draws attention. Obviously they can be broken and the trailer stolen if somewhere that someone has time and no witnesses. But as a deterrent it's very effective.

An adequate trailer coupler lock. This is not intended to be a serious lock but more of a deterrent. It is well made, but of lighter weight materials. It is easy to use and installs very quickly and comes with two keys. I found the ball on the trailer coupler lock to be a bit small and loose inside my 2in hitch. Given the large range of couplers this lock fits (almost an 1/2" inch (.4375") range per the manufacturer) it is expected to be a bit loose - but still does the job.

This coupler lock is not strong enough to deter a thief who can undo it with something as simple as a screwdriver.
