Etekcity 22lb Food Kitchen Scale, USB Rechargeable, IPX6 Waterproof

The scale is great- accurate, supports a respectable amount of weight, and very easy to clean, especially as its water resistant. Battery life is very good (but would charge it before first use). Unfortunately, 9 months in, it started giving erratic reads. We contacted customer support and they were very responsive, ultimately sending out a new scale. Replacement is working great. I’ve been through a number of scales (caregiver for a brittle diabetic who weighs everything to the gram), and this one is the best of the lot I’ve worked with. Not an analytical scale, but also not $4k. I think the malfunction was probably a one-off dud, but the customer support completely made up for it. Would/will definitely buy again.

So, I purchased this food scale back in November 2022. Scale was easy to use, precise measurements, loved the look of the scale and used it every day 4-5 times during the day!!! It helped me stay on track with food intake - it was a life saver. A week or so ago, the scale started giving double readings of items that I put on there. I tried measuring 4 ozs of water and it would read 8.86 oz instead; this did not make me happy. I called the Customer Service of the company and they were not accepting phone calls - just emails. I thought 'great'..this may take a long time getting an answer. Well, I was wrong. They answered my issued within a few days. I had to send in pictures of the scale (front and back) and verification that I purchased the scale to prove how long I had had it (copy of invoice). They HONORED their 2 year warranty and I am getting a new scale in a few weeks!!! How about that!!! You can't go wrong purchasing products from a company who stands buy their warranties, and not have the customer go through loops for an exchange. I will always purchase any other electrical items I need from Etekcity!! As a matter of fact, I just purchased a humidifier from their sister company..so far, I'm happy with that item as well!!!

I really like this food scale. It's easy to use and is big enough to place larger objects. It is about the size of a standard piece of paper. It also looks good. Consumer Reports had rated this scale pretty accurate, although these cheap Chinese brands group multiple items together in their listings and they aren't all the same product. One peculiar note is on the grams scale there is no decimal point measurement but there is decimal measurements for other units. If you need precision for something like coffee grounds, which would be measured in grams, this is not the scale for you.

This is a great little scale, reasonably accurate and takes up little counter space. Even better is the customer service this company provides. They really stand behind their product. After nearly two years of daily use I started noticing decreased accuracy in its reported weights. I contacted the company and they immediately replaced the defective unit. The new unit arrived and has been going strong these past few months. The company even took the time to follow up afterwards to ensure the new unit was received, working correctly and that my concerns had been addressed. I was really impressed and cannot recommend this company enough.

Absolutely gets the job done. Measures heavy weights (able to do several pounds of meat) and light weights (delicate fruits like raspberries). Nice measuring surface with all buttons and display in glass to make cleaning easy. Zero setup needed, was charged and worked right out of the box. Will report back later after more use on battery life, but weighed several things without needing to charge it with the charge it came with, so no red flags on battery life yet. I plan to do some formal tests for accuracy as time goes on, measuring known weights and the like, will report back if there are concerns there. One thing to note (and see the video for more visual understanding): it must be placed on a surface with all four feet stable and level in order to measure accurately. I am assuming it is taking an average of the weight detected at each individual foot of the four feet. You can see in the video, if you simply support the base from the middle with all four feet floating, it registers no measurement. Obviously one would want to keep a scale level anyways, but I feel that an uneven surface or something like a grain of rice caught under one foot could yield inaccurate measurements? (But also I am not a physicist, so perhaps it would always average out correctly?) Overall seems pretty good though. Measurements shown seem to stabilize quickly and hold steady, even without the hold feature turned on.

My wife is a dietitian and women’s health advocate who is heavily involved in Orangetheory Fitness, healthy cooking, and overall wellness. We have owned this scale for about eight months, and up until now, it has been excellent. The positives are worth mentioning: the scale has a beautiful flat-top design, it is rechargeable, waterproof, and has been very easy to use. For the past several months, it has honestly been one of the best scales we have owned from a design and usability standpoint. Unfortunately, it recently started displaying inaccurate weight measurements. This is a major issue, especially because my wife uses this scale as part of her health and weight-loss tracking routine. When the numbers are not accurate, it throws off the consistency and reliability of her progress tracking. I have reached out to the company and am hoping they will stand behind the product by sending a replacement. So far, I have not received a response, but I will update this review if that changes.

Overall, this scale performs very well. Accuracy has been excellent, even with small quantities above 2 grams. For cooking and meal prep, it has been consistent and reliable. It charges via USB-C, which is a big plus. I have used it for over a month, about 2–3 times per week, and have only needed to charge it once. Battery life has been impressive so far. The tare function is something I use almost every time, and it works quickly and without any issues. The controls are intuitive, and the display is clear and easy to read from different angles. It is also stable when using larger containers, which is important when weighing bowls or meal prep containers. The surface handles light water splashes without problems and is easy to wipe clean. One small drawback (especially from a Latin American perspective) is the unit display format. It shows pounds with the remaining weight in grams. Personally, I would prefer options like 1.5 lb, 1 lb + X grams, or full ounce-based readings. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. In terms of design, it looks premium and modern in the kitchen. It takes up very little space and has a clean, refined finish. However, it does feel somewhat delicate—especially the top surface. It gives the impression that a hard drop could damage it, unlike more rugged plastic models. Overall, it’s precise, compact, elegant, easy to clean, and efficient. As long as it’s handled with care, it’s an excellent kitchen tool.

My hubby and I started in January to watch what we are eating / eat better. For the first time in our lives we are actually paying attention to serving sizes and therefore measuring food. This scale has been a life saver. Super easy to use. Lots of different weight options. It has been working great and easy to pack for a trip too. Easy to clean and put away. The rechargeable battery is great and seems to last a long time.
