Serum Plus +

Because I teach at the same university as researcher Kan Cao, I learned about the potency of her Bluelene formulation some time ago. She developed it in her work with young progeria patients, whose abnormally rapid aging often causes death before the end of the teen years. I bought and have been using this serum, and the Bluelene moisturizer, for only 5 days, and am already impressed by the improvement in wrinkle and dark-spot reduction, and in the hydration, smoothness, and brightness of my facial skin. It's clear that these products have powerful anti-aging properties, and am so glad that Dr. Sao has created formulations to substantially help reduce and even reverse the effects of skin aging in the general population.

The name of this product would suggest that Methylene Blue is a key ingredient , however there is nothing on the packaging to indicate the amount of this ingredient in the product, other than to list as last on the list of ingredients on the bottle. A further search on the maker's website FAQ's tells me that the amount of Methylene Blue used is a "Trade Secret" which seems like a red flag. Anyway, this product did not produce any noticeable changes to my skin. For me this just felt like a run of the mill moisturizer.

Easily absorbed by the skin. It also has a mild scent and it does show good results very fast. Overall a very good product.

I’ve been using this product for going on 3 weeks now and while I have been thoroughly enjoying it I have not seen instant lifting results like the box claims. This is a heavier serum that takes a little longer to fully absorbs but, a little bit goes a long way and It does leave my skin feeling buttery soft after application. In the 3 weeks I’ve been using it I have not experienced any purging or unwanted reactions to adding this to my skin care routines. I do really like the straight forward high quality ingredients. I find it a little interesting that their patented ingredient Methylene blue is the last ingredient but none the less I would call this a potent serum. In the 3 weeks I’ve been using it I have noticed that it does deeply hydrate and nourish my dry skin. It doesn’t just moisturize on application, I’ve actually noticed my skin is more hydrated all day regularly which is lovely coming out of the dry winter season. Where I live it a very dry climate so deeply nourishing and hydrating serums are very important to me. This one is very effective at deeply hydrating my skin for both short and long term improvements. I love feeling my skin more rejuvenated and hydrated. I can easily see how this serum would absolutely help with anti-aging and wrinkles given how deeply hydrating it is. I have also notice that my complexion is more radiant and even toned. My skin feels more supple and healthy and has a nice natural glow to it. Even though this serum has not instantly tightening my skin in my experience I’m still VERY happy with with my results and experience. It definitely does help with a more youthful supple natural radiant glow which is noticeable in just a couple week of regular consistent use. I would definitely recommend this serum to any one looking to brighten their complexion, deeply moisturize and help with anti aging.

The star in this Bluelene Serum Plus +, Methylene Blue, is an ingredient I’ve heard of as a dye, but I’ve never seen it used in therapeutic skincare. Apparently, Methylene Blue has been around a long time, but some years ago, the University of Maryland (UMD) discovered through testing that methylene blue can could repair Progeria damaged cells. Progeria is the genetic disorder that causes accelerated aging in children. In 2014, UMD discovered that Methylene Blue has anti-aging properties to help with skin regeneration and the ability to slow down the maturity of skin cells. So her we are with a Serum that has included Methylene Blue in it serum’s formulation. I haven’t used it long enough to gauge its effectiveness, but here are my initial impressions: * The serum is in a vacuum pump type bottle which protects the contents from air and contamination * The serum is blue in color and has a lightweight consistency * It rubs on smoothly and absorbs well * A little goes a long way * It does not leave any stickiness or oiliness * It’s fairly expensive so I would only buy if I see some improvement with this 1oz container. I’m excited to be given the opportunity to use the serum because studies have proven that Methylene Blue can treat age-related damage in healthy cells, suggesting that methylene blue can also treat normal aging symptoms. I’d love to be able to say it’s a winner!
