Real Handmade, Unglazed
I saw someone in the reviews say this wasn't handmade. That is NONSENSE. I know my pottery, I've made enough pottery to spot it. People are often shocked that a lot of non-plaster ceramics they buy in the store are handmade because it's actually easier to make by hand. As proof, you can see on the inside of this teapot marks where someone used a tool to attach the base to the main part of the teapot because it's in an inconvenient place to smooth out. Skilled potters smooth their work and don't leave it too thick and lumpy unless they're going for wabi-sabi style or because they know that's the only way typical craft salers recognize pottery as handmade.Anyway, I had to get that off my chest because I love this teapot. I use it almost every day for multiple brews. I adore the smooth and steady stream of the spout. Keep in mind when you purchase this teapot that it is unglazed and you'll want to make sure you don't get lazy and let bacteria and whatever grow in it because you also don't want to ruin it with soap. If you insist on using soap, do not use scented soap and do not soak it.

Perfect for learning the fine art of tea (aka health elixirs), unglazed like this one is the best!
It's very small, but perfect. I'm used to large mugs, so this was a change, but I'm finally able to put my grandmother's fine china teacups to use and know I understand why there were so tiny by today's standards. We overdo everything. The unglazed pot naturally sterilizes the water and expedites the combining and release of all the flavors and notes of the tea, along with removing any phytic acid.I've had babesiosis / Lyme from a horrific bedbug experience; it's very difficult infection to get rid of the infection- in my tea I add chinchona bark (quinine) along with lavender and glasswort. My skin is becoming less waxy and my hair is filling in - after 5 years of trying everything with doctors and on my own. So I looked back in time for answers and discovered ancient Asian medicine. It's an art, its interesting and it's fun and you can tailor your tea to your needs. Mixing a bit of milk or cream helps with the absorption into the bloodstream.

Tea pot
It’s a really good teapot. I was scared it would break. Because of the reviews. But you have to season it first. Maybe people are not doing that.I had for two weeks now no problems. And I put it to test trust me. The lid stays on when it’s hot. Got it for work and use it everyday. Pu-erh tea drinker. This teapot Just is good as my 200 hundred dollar one home.

Very High Quality for the Price
I've owned a variety of yixing teapots over the course of the past decade or so, and this one holds a candle to some costing upwards of $100. I've paid twice the price as this one for a teapot that failed to pour an even stream, or formed cracks with minor jostling, so I'm very happy about this purchase. Been using it every day for at least a week now, and I can't see myself slowing down any time soon.As with all of my clay teapots, I like to set this on a towel while filling, and after pouring out the tea, so I can't quite speak to the bottom's durability as it's pretty much always cushioned, but I did knock into the top of the teapot quite aggressively two days ago, with no sign of damage.

I should have read the reviews...
Like several other customers, I was very disappointed when hairline cracks began developing on the bottom of the pot. I had been using it for about 2 months before I heard a cracking sound when pouring hot water into it the first time. I heard it once more a week after that, and tea began dripping right out from the bottom of the pot. At this low of a price, I didn't expect perfection, but I definitely expected a pot that would not break simply from being used in the proper way. The lid actually fits quite well, and the pour is nicer than most pots I've used. The clay must be poor quality, though, and the firing process must not have been done properly for this to happen. I wish I could return it but of course I am out of the return window now. I would rather have saved the money and put it toward a more expensive pot from the beginning.

Great inexpensive pot for gongfu beginner
Very pleased with this tea pot, perfect for my solo gongfu sessions at 200ml (but also fine for 2 people).Whether or not this is really Yixing clay at this price I don't know, but I'm happy enough with the results.I've used this regularly for 2 months or so with several different tea varieties I like - puerh (raw and ripe) and oolongs. Compared to brewing in a glass pot my tea tastes smoother and less harsh. The pour is decent, although should be used with a tea tray as some drips come down. Easy to rinse/clean and to discard used leaves.Aesthetically it looks great on my tea tray. If you are interested in trying gongfu brewing you can't go wrong with this pot.

Defect Stops Me From Re-purchase
The moment I received the teapot, I liked its material. I was going to buy 2 more for pu'er and oolong, until I see the waterflow. Water keeps dripping from the bottom of its spout. It's not hard to find out why- there is a small defect at the end of inside of the spout, there is a tiny piece of zisha sticks out in the way of waterflow. This messes up its waterflow. (see pic)These are not cheap tea pots.

Nice teapot.
I drink a lot of pu erh. Was looking for a "snub nose" clay pot for gongfu cha, and took a chance on this. Glad I did. The spout is a little tricky to master, since it can dribble if you don't tip it slow or fast enough, but this is a fun pot that's very enjoyable. Especially for the value. Was worried that it wouldnt be authentic purple clay for this price, but it's real.
