This Deck is Truly Magical!
I'm a relatively new skater that started about a year ago, but I'm an old dude (40 y/o). I can ollie consistently, pop-shuv its are coming together nicely. I can do some slappy nose slides and 50/50, heelflips/kickflips are still hit and miss. I've been skating 8.25 and 8.5 boards. I finally took the plunge on this "egg style" board and I love it. From my perspective, If you're a new skater and are still working on your basic board control and foundational tricks, I would strongly recommend the Heron Egg as an entry point into the mind of Mr. Anderson. Ive had this board for about a week, I love it. I want to skate it all the time. It's inspires extra joy while skating. This board feels big and comfy under your feet, but is surprisingly nimble. It is snappy and responsive, with a mellow curve that gives your feet some reference points, but still feels like a traditional board. I had no problem rotating the few tricks that I know how to do, and found that the tricks I was still working on were going way better than with a traditional popsicle. It feels like an 8.75 when it's on the ground. It's roomy, it has a slightly elongated wheelbase and the nose/tail design is super poppy. But as soon as you pop and get in the air, it feels like some sort of quantum technology or voodoo magic shrinks the board to an 8.25 or smaller. However, as soon as it's time to land again, the board magically expands and feels like it's an 8.75 again. Tons of room and confidence to commit to tricks. Andy has three decks out, this is the second of the three. You can find a video called "The Andersons" that has him explaining all three decks and their intended purpose. Andy does a great job describing the boards and the difference between the models. As a newer skater, I didn't want to make the leap into the more extreme custom shapes because I wanted to make sure I was well rounded and any skills I do manage to develop will translate to any board. If you're a more intermediate skater, working on more advanced transition or flip tricks, you might want to check out Andy's less traditional deck styles. That's not to say that this board wouldn't be great for a more advanced skater, I just only have the perspective of a new skater, and I love this deck. My setup: This board, 149 indy trucks 8.5", Dragon 93a 56mm wheels. 1/8" hard risers.

WILL IT MAKE ME BETTER AT SKATING? YES, I DO BELIEVE
THIS IS MY FAVORITE STREET DECK. The twin shape is great because it is so freeing and allows you to flow and enjoy your skating more. The deck feels poppy and very much fresh after 6 months of riding (not exclusively). Lasts longer than a regular 7 ply, because the wear is spread out evenly. I think this deck can make you better at skateboarding.

Best street deck I've skated.
I LOVE THIS BOARD! Feels great and has excellent pop. After a few months the durability has held up really well and I love the symmetrical design. I use it for street and transition and it does it all really well. No regrets and totally worth the price.

I’m an older intermediate level skater. Love the pop of the flight deck for ollies. The 8.5 deck width is perfect for me. Twin tips makes it so that I don’t have to think about which is the nose or tail. I can ride it either way without flipping the nose back to the front or having to switch my stance like on an asymmetrical deck. Love the squared off tail/nose, which is great for doing tail blocks & freestyle tricks.
