This product has worked out extremely well, we have been dehydrating food and spices, and herbs. They last for years that way,and we don't loose food we can't finish before it spoils. Rehydrating is simple and now we have plenty of flavorful broths that make everything taste better

I waited so long with I don't know how many dehydrators in my shopping cart before pulling the trigger on this one. I don't have any regrets. In the 2 months I've owned it I have created 2 great batches of beef jerky, and a metric ton of dehydrated banana and apple chips. I also tried a cranberry fruit roll with the provided tray, and it came out ok -- mostly my fail and not the machine. Because my kitchen is right next to the living room, I was worried it would be too loud and interfere with conversation or hearing the TV. That is not the case at all. It's so quiet. I can hear it run, but it's hardly noticeable. The stainless trays are nice and easy to clean. The paperwork says dishwasher safe, but I still hand wash them to make sure the last as long as possible. The fruit tray and plastic mesh sheets are semi-ridged; they won't collapse when carrying them a bit (like from like to machine), but they are put in the machine on top of one of the stainless trays. The overall feel of the machine is good quality. It's solid and much more "attractive" to have on the counter than one of the plastic circular ones. Extremely happy with this purchase!

May 21, 2024 - Customer Service ranks in top 5% for supporting us in resolving the problem with the unit not turning on. This was & now continures to be my wife's favorite dehydrator. We have several! The slow response was due to us . . . not the company. They even contacted us to provide assistance on weekends. The issue appeared to be a 'thermal fuse' malfunction - something that can happen with any electrical appliance. My wife's Crownful Dehydrator is working. We have made natto, dehydrated nuts, & made Dr. Davis's Super Gut yogurt (a 36 hr process). Our usual temperature setting range is 100 ~ 110 F for our processing. Suggestion - buy the modestly priced warranty to give coverage for 4 yrs. Previous review: It worked fine until it did not. We only used it to make yogurt in glass containers. It was never used for wet food. We expected it to work for several years . . . it did not. Made a new batch of yogurt and went to our food pantry where it was maintained (house is central A/C). Put the yogurt mix into the space & the lights would not come on. We checked the plug and it was in plugged in. Looked at other electrical items in the pantry and all were displaying electrical connections. We removed the yogurt mix and unplugged the CrownFul dehydrator, plugged it back into an active plug - no lights. Unplugged it again and left it unplugged for several hours. Plugged it in again and the unit lights came on. Proceeded to set the time and temp and pushed the start button. It appeared to come on but there was not fan noise. It shut down turning off all lights on the start panel after about 10 min. For 14 months +/- use, it is very expensive and being not reliable. Customer service instruction suggested sending an email. We have been a long time customer with Amz and find this review process is the most efficient way to communicate a product issue.

It literally stinks! The instructions say prior to the first use to run the dehydrator for 30 minutes at any temperature, without adding any food, making sure that the room has sufficient ventilation in case of any smoke or smells. There definitely is a smell. Kind of like burnt oil/electrical. Ok so I wiped out the interior with a wet wash rag several times then dried the unit. I ran it again for 30 minutes at 165F hoping that would take care of the odor. No good, it still stinks. Ran it again after wiping out with wet wash rag for 1 hour at 165F and our whole kitchen stinks. I cant put any food in this thing yet. I will try a few more times before giving up. On the plus side the unit looks very nice and is super quiet. My old round dehydrator was extremely loud. If I get this thing usable I'll update the review but I'm not putting any food in this until then! ****Edited 12/25/23 to say that after running the unit for 4 hours at 165F and washing multiple times with a clean damp rag that the smell is finally gone. I dehydrated some lions mane mushrooms and it did a very good job. The unit is super quite which is wonderful. It did a much better job than our old round dehydrator. I just wish I didnt have to go through all the steps to get rid of the odor. The mushrooms would have absorbed the smell and then tasted like it. I'll bump it up to 4 stars.

This dehydrator is better than I had expected! The heat and timer are precise and I don’t have “hot spots” amongst the trays. I can load the trays fairly heavy and my items still get dried beautifully. I dried multiple fruits and none of them turned brown. I dried green onions and they dried vibrant light green. I cannot recommend enough. If you are comparing machines and want one for home. Buy this one.

Product arrived with an easily visible dent on the top. The shipping box was in perfect shape, so the damage happened before the item was packed into the box. I decided to keep it anyway, even though the dent on top was a disappointment. I did not want to mess with a processing a return and waiting for a new one. The dehydrator will not be sitting on my countertop. It will only be brought out when I am using it, so I will not be seeing the dent all the time. I am mentioning the damage in this review so that, if continues to happen, something can be done about it. Now to the good part. The unit is aesthetically pleasing. It has the look of a nice appliance, not a factory machine. I love the clear door, along with the interior light, that allows you to see what is going on while dehydrating. But the feature that I love the very most is how WONDERFULLY quiet it is. I had read other reviews that raved about it being so quiet, and that is what sold me on this dehydrator. I would not want to have to listen to something droning on for 12 -24 hours, and with this unit I don't have to. It's great. Bottom line: This dehydrator has several very nice features, and I highly recommend it.

So far we used it around 6 times. So far it works great. Initially the fan was making some noise, but I realized that some of the herbs were tpoking through the barrire and touching the fan. So far we only need to set the temp to 65 or 70 and the time to 2hrs max. The fan is so quiet that I have to look through the dehydrator to confirm that it is on. I think the only downside to this dehydrator is that the door frame has a rased edge at the bottom which makes it a little hard to clean out fallen leaves. Other than that it is agreat dehydrator. If I would suggest an improvement, that would be to add a peebing sound or a blinking light to confirm registering the new temp and time settings and when the dehydrator starts dehydrating. Currently, the on button needs to pressed (touched) to turn the time/temp panel on and a second pressing (touching) the on icon to start the dehydration process but no confirmation light or sound to confirm the process start. This was confusing for us when we first used it.

Large enough unit to fulfil household needs. Powerful enough (600 watts) to heat properly. Digital display is nice too!

Used half a dozen times and it stopped working.

Got way way way too hot. Returned.
