Incredible cognitive and athletic performance improvement
L-carnitine is an amino acid that occurs naturally in animal products, with the highest levels found in red meat. There are also small amounts found in white meat, fish, milk, avocados and asparagus. The body can make carnitine from lysine and methionine, which are two of the essential amino acids; however, this process only equates to small amounts. L-carnitine and acetyl l-carnitine are different forms of the same compound. Acetyl l-carnitine is more effective for improving cognitive and neurological function as the acetyl group allows the compound to cross the blood-brain barrier with greater efficiency than l-carnitine alone. However, l-carnitine is more effective at improving physical performance as there is a more significant amount available to the muscle cells as there is a lower amount supporting the brain. L-carnitine supplementation has consistently been shown to positively impact cognitive function, especially in older adults. Numerous robust scientific investigations have suggested that this amino acid can improve mood, alertness, and general cognitive ability and combat mental fatigue. L-carnitine is also popularly taken for improving body composition (increasing muscle and/or losing fat). Although there is a lack of research on young adults, investigations that have recruited older individuals have shown that l-carnitine can result in an increase in muscle mass and/or a loss of fat. These results do not seem to be due to specific effects of l-carnitine on muscle building or fat metabolism per se but seem to be due to the supplement increasing energy levels, leading to individuals being able to exercise harder. L-carnitine supplementation only leads to an increase in fat burning if the person is deficient in this amino acid. This is most likely to occur in people who eat plant-based diets. Many people also choose to take Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) alongside acetyl l-carnitine. This antioxidant is a fatty acid which is found within the mitochondria of cells. It has a similar role to carnitine as it helps with energy metabolism and protects cells from oxidative stress. So, when taken alongside carnitine, ALA provides the body with all-round cellular support. It is recommended that acetyl l-carnitine is taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach so that the compound is rapidly digested to help activate the brain from the get-go. Conversely, it can be taken with the first meal of the day for the same reason. Given that I exercise almost daily, and am an avid researcher of supplements, I started taking l-carnitine several months ago. I was excited to try the Double Wood product because I have purchased other products from the brand that impressed me with their quality and purity. One of the funniest side effects for me is the smell of my pee, as it has a very distinctive “fishy” odour. My mum is 56 and works out at least three times weekly with a personal trainer. He also recommended l-carnitine for my mum to improve her results and stamina. Given the science and research behind this amino acid, I will continue taking it. Furthermore, l-carnitine plays a dual role for me, as it improves cognition.

Great For Blood Pressure
I have been in the supplement business for many years and one of my regular supplements is L Carnitine. I take it for energy and to protect the heart. LC plays a crucial role in the production of energy by transporting fatty acids into your cells’ mitochondria. The mitochondria act as engines within your cells, burning these fats to create usable energy. By taking LC my energy increases. It can also affect the brain as it can protect it. Some animal studies suggest that L-carnitine may help prevent age-related mental decline and improve markers of learning. The main effect of taking this product is that it stabilises my Blood Pressure. I take 2mg a day and it has helped bring my BP down by 10 points. It is amazing. This form works very well for BP. Overall this has helped my Blood Pressure and Increased my Energy. I feel so much better when I take this supplement. It is critical to take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 mins before food.

Got it for sports. It is Vegan, also GMO and Gluten Free. Doesn't have fillers or binders.
L-carnatine I got for sport as it is a chemical that is made in the human brain, liver, and kidneys. It helps the body turn fat into energy. L-carnatine is important for heart and brain function, muscle movement, and many other body processes. I took a star off though because L-carnatine shouldn't be that expensive 35 quid is not right. I used to buy this cheap and it worked the same after a few months of training. Just Amazon search and you see the prices. To use quoted: As a food supplement, take 2 vegetarian capsules each day with a meal or as advised by your health care professional. Store out of reach of children in a cool dry area. See base of bottle for batch number and expiry date. I personally took 2 just after a healthy fat/protein meal, as 2000mg of L-carnatine is safe to have per day. 1 is 1,000mg I fast and only eat one meal per day, so either I'll take 1 or 2 in that one meal. Can be taken during or just after food with some water. Hopefully I get my energy back for the morning, or I take 1-2 shortly before exercise, on an empty stomach with some amino acid/electrolyte drink. I used to do this a few years back too. I will say this though, this product is good that it doesn't contain any nasty extra ingredients, and fillers. They have my respect for not putting in maltodextrin, magnesium stearate, magnesium salts of fatty acids, and the like. It is a Vegetarian Capsule, they say it's also suitable for vegans. This is GMO and Gluten free, Since it is vegan it is also dairy free, only issue poor value for money.

I just started taking the Acetyl L-Carnitine 1,000mg, so I haven’t seen any big results yet, but I also haven’t experienced any bad effects. There’s no noticeable taste or smell, which makes it easy to take. Overall, it seems like a good supplement so far!

I’ve been using DW L-Carnitine Capsules for about two months now. Alongside my workout routine, it’s been a great addition for increasing energy levels and aiding in weight loss. L-Carnitine helps transport fats to be used as energy during workouts, which made my exercises feel more effective. Overall, I’m really happy with the results and would recommend this product.

My experience with ALCAR was very good overall. I started with 500-1000mg when I tried it out and moved up to the max throughout the day. It was very effective at clearing up the brain and providing energy for the first 3 weeks or so and then I stopped noticing the motivation improvement, but it still helped some in that area and with brain fog. Brain fog has been a huge problem for me for years, so any relief is appreciated. Even toward the end, it continued to help with coming down off of Adderall (what caught my attention to try it initially during my hours of research). If you drink a lot of coffee, energy drinks, consume a lot of stimulant substances/supplements/meds, this would probably help you during, but especially after. As I write this, I haven't taken it in a couple weeks and I can really notice a big difference in how well it helped me as the hodgepodge of daily stimulants wore off, even though the UP feeling faded a little as I took it every day throughout the month. If you are using a lot of stimulants, I would highly recommend this! Also, please note the warning about watching the amount you take (or avoiding it outright) if you have hypothyroidism. I think I'll just cut back a little on the quantity, as mine is not severe. Thank you guys for putting out QUALITY at good prices! FYI, L-carnitine bonded to the acetyl group is the only way to go. The plain l-carnitine in energy drinks is basically worthless and NALCAR is probably just another marketing gimmick. Beware of the term higher bioavailability in the world of supplements, this doesn't equate to effectiveness regarding what area of the body (especially the brain) you want it to go to. It's often a money-making scheme, as it equates to much higher prices for certain supplements. ALCAR is effective and this is a good one.
