Best pectin for making jam
I cannot make jam without the pectin. The old way was to cook fruit and sugar for hours until it thickened. The pectin makes it so much faster! I use the pectin almost weekly as I make jam each week most of the summer.

Good product
Exactly what I wanted. Many stores no longer sell this. Guess people do not make jam at home.

BEST FRUIT PECTIN
Could not find MCP in any stores around me. TG for ordering it here. Just as strawberry and raspberry season is here! Made six batches (last batches were strawberry/raspberry combo) and perfect every time.

Where are the instructions? Here's a link.
Great price 8 pkgs/$18.50 - We like the MCP pectin better than the other brands for frozen jam. It was a little weird that the packages came sealed but there were no instruction sheets inside. I happened to have one saved in my recipe book, so wasn't a problem for me. Freezer jam recipe can be found online here: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/SiteCollectionImages/brandhub/pectin/MCP-Insert.pdf Expiration date is two years in future, pectin seemed a little lumpy, but dissolved fine when added to fruit. Pectin worked great, Jam set up, no problems.

MCP to the rescue!!
I bought this because my jam didn’t set. I thought I had bought MCP originally, but I bought surejell. Surejell you have to cook on the stovetop, while MCP you can just mix in. I made two batches of strawberry freezer jam using Surejell and neither set. I measured and followed directions exactly. I remembered this version is not always successful. I looked for MCP in several stores, but could not find it even though it’s supposedly available. Amazon to the rescue! I added some lemon juice (since MCP needs it and the original Surejell did not) and followed the instructions for “if your jam didn’t set.” It was still syrupy but the next day it was set. Yippee!! Every time I have used MCP the jam has set. It’s so much easier to use and more successful than Surejell. I know Surejell makes both products, they should make this more readily available.

Great for low or sugar free
I used it to make cranberry jam. I actually used a bit of Coconut sugar, but only a 1/4 of what is called for. I like my stuff tard. It set well. Oh, by the way. By the time I finally got the time to use it, it was a year out of date .... and it still worked great!
