I usually run a little cold, especially in the winter (Alaska winter's are a challenge but probably not as cold as the upper mid-west). It's not heavy, its fluffy enough and keeps me warm. My down comforter was great at first but the down shifted to the point where it was pretty thin on one end. My new down alternative comforter has remained uniform and shows no sign of shifting. Bought it last December and it's been on my bed ever since. I like it a lot and am glad I bought it.
